More or less yes.
Plenty of BMW suits, hats and jackets.
A few old triumphs, a versys 650, an S10 and a 690 & 990 KTM's
No Suzuki's.
One of the 1200gs owners ate his words when he started talking about his bike doing 30k and was massively high mileage. He wanted to part with it before it needed it's 3rd clutch, before the rear drive needed replacing, and the brake light was flashing intermittently.
I then said about my cheap strom with 60k miles that needed a few new chains a few sets of brake pads and never left me stranded even when the gearbox blew.
Then one of the old timers described the trips he's been on with his various old airhead BMW's and stating they stoped making good products in 1990.
The bike he rode in on was a mid 80's fully faired BMW that he'd just finished a 10k mile trip on and that he had spent an hour to replace the right head gasket on the thursday before the meet.
That bloke turned out to be a very intresting bloke... the one with the 1200gs- not so interesting.
Once someone started to share (force upon us) his Red Stag I started to really enjoy the festivities.
There was little in the way of team players there, more prancing and cock measuring. A bit like the ABR forum then.
