Couple more comments, having managed to get through a couple of tankfuls now, the 'Range Remaining' works really well, and I found having Trip 1 running as well gives a great indication of range since fill-up as well as range remaining at the same time. The display is easy to use, easy to read, easy to adjust the brightness and so on. Tank range is easily good for 200 miles, although that is while running in, and without the centre stand, so not sure if I will be able to get more fuel in when the bike is vertical rather than tipped over on the side stand. I don't like sitting astride a bike while filling, having seen someone drop the nozzle, spraying petrol all over his legs and the bike! And I didn't run the tank out to see how accurate the gauges are at the finish!
turbulence around the screen is OK; moving the screen to its 3 different positions changes things, from smoothish but in-the-face, to reduced force but blustery when fully forward. This will vary obviously with speed and your height, but it is way less than the 650 I rode last year, which I found completely beyond a joke! When I have the touring screen fitted, Hopefully things will be even better, not that they are bad now.
Main-Dip switch is a little irritating; like the indicator switch, they do feel very wimpy under gloves, and I hope Suzuki can look at this. The points of contact for the rider need to match in 'feel', and these switches are out of kilter with the rest of the bike, which otherwise is very solid.
The ride is proving very surefooted, although I am not pushing things much! I am not some invited journo who can trash other peoples bikes with impunity ... I also want to get this slight glitch in the fuelling sorted out, which is being a bit of a trial especially commuting in Bristol traffic! It is definitely there, standing still and gently reducing the revs is fine until 2100 revs is reached, and then with barely any more movement of the twist grip, the revs drop instantly to around 1000. And of course with all that engine breaking, this can be quite exciting!! But as I mentioned before, I will get this sorted. And thanks Juvecu for the pointer ref the sensor unit, definitely mention that to the service blokes.
Right, more soon, hoping to have the accessories all fitted shortly.
