Gpr exhaust fitted with Givi pannier rack
« on: December 20, 2013, 19:17:29 »
Hi all,

I have fitted a gpr exhaust to my glee, I already had givi pannier rack s on, the problem I have is no matter how tight I do up the bracket and holder the can drops and touchs the rack, I'm worried the heat will damage the rack or the vibrations damaging the can, anyone had this problem or ideas on fixing this?

Thanks in advance

Do you have a picture or pictures to show the problem?

Noose7 I have encountered a similar problem, thankfully it's easily cured. I have knocked up a second hanger from a strip of stainless steel which supports the link pipe at the unused front hanger position (for the stock silencer). This allows the pipe to sit at a higher location thus avoiding the pannier mounts (I have the Suzuki/Hepco & Becker). It fits beside the spring location loops and is hardly visible. I hope this helps  :thumb:

Use a second stainless strap on the original bike fixing which the gpr doesn't make use of. Great exhausts.  A second strap makes a hell of a difference.  Especially on a bike that is capable of a little off roading. I made my own out if a strip of 20mm stainless exactly the same length as a piece of A4. It was bang on.
