Perhaps this should be done with the rider seated on the bike and of course for light riders (eg 135lb) and heavier ones (eg 250lb)?

No. That is not going to make a noticeable difference.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

Paddock stands. centrestands, sidestands, 4 men and a donkey holding it upright with an array of pulleys and levers, I find it makes such little difference that its not worth worrying about.  Especially given the relatively massive difference  between the upper and lower marks Suzuki put on the sight glass as a guide.

I tend to use whichever one is cheapest at the time.

well....... drained the oil and fitted new filter and sump plug washer. refilled with oil and then went to torque up the filter and sump plug washer and realised the bloody torque wrench starts off at 40Nm-200Nm. So tomorrows job is to get a new 3/8" torque wrench that has a range from 10Nm-40Nm or thereabouts.  :groan:

Right was going to change oil and filter on bike. have new filter, sump washer and castrol fully syn oil (got on tescos clearout deal).

Out of interest, what type of Castrol oil were Tescos selling, as I never see them advertising  motorcycle oil?
