Bar risers....
« on: July 24, 2013, 12:15:34 »
Just had a look on the motohaus website at bar risers and they have a set which lift the bars by 31mm and bring them back by 22mm. Has anybody used these or are there others that work better (without causing cable /hose problems) ?  I'm 5'11 and find my lower back aches after a while.

if I remember correctly, that is about the max u can do without extending. I added 2" risers and needed new brake hoses, electrical wiring kits
I'm sane, honestly. . . I got a certificate to prove it!

Ben,
here is a pic of the Motohaus ones fitted to my wee

I am 6'1 and they make me sit nicely upright.I can still lean forward but my back feels more comfortable now with these fitted.

Hi

I also have these fitted to my DL650A, and can be easily fitted with a little effort.
Well worth the effort, as my back can testify!

Thanks for the advice here. I just wanted to check as 31mm/22mm didn't sound like much- hopefully it'll make a difference. I've ordered them - £75 delivered- add it to the list of jobs for the weekend.

Must be the time of year - I suffered with neck pain on my European trip last week and ordered these earlier this week, based upon a write upon on forum.  They arrived today in the wrong colour so have just sent them back to change them but they looked good.  Look forward to hearing what you make of them.  I am planning to fit this weekend too assuming they arrive by then.

Cheers
Andy

Well they arrived today and me being impatient as I am, fitted them to the bike. Dead easy job, 15mins and from sitting on the, bike, seems a big difference. I'll be on the bike tomorrow so I'll add some more thoughts then.

These have made a massive difference for me. No more leaning at awkward angles, the bars are just where they should be. Well worth the £75 and 15 minutes.
