footpeg fumble
« on: July 23, 2013, 18:27:47 »
Right then, had these on about a month or two now and mentioned I had problems fitting them but due to a mixture of work and lazyness I havnt explained why.

So then, these are the little buggers! .. link kindly from Locky
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FOOTPEGS-Foot-Rests-For-Pit-Bikes-110cc-120cc-125cc-Strong-Grippy-Metal-Tops-/190866761482?nma=true&si=gwXuTsRYaFGMCqauF1OEy2z9vpQ%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

They are no longer available from this seller, but these are the ones I got.

Main problem I had is quite simply they wouldn't fit! haha the pin would not drop through the holes  ... I started by widening the hole  :haha:  sorry.

This didn't solve the problem, so fired up the angle grinder and gently took some of the straight bump stop away.

To do this job properly (I'm a fussy bugger), took me about an hour - hour and half, but no they fit perfectly :)

And for some pics!!!

tinker, tweek, fettle....bodge, bang, bugger!!!

Your eBay link doesn't work. Did Locky have the same trouble as you did with the fitting?

That's a lot of messing about, are you sure you'd got them the right way round? ;)
