Aye - we'll still buy your stuff off you, Jeff - just as a favour, like

The ones I used on the Tiger are these: http://estore.chester-harley-davidson.c ... -N0006.1AD and I understand from other forums they fit the Wee as well.

To fit the Tiger I had to make a thin bush to take up the difference between a metric pin and an imperial hole, and releive the sides of the pivot slightly. I think the same applies to the Wee.

However, I'm now considering something else......

Thanks, I used the part code on there to find a picture.

Unfortunately they are quite narrow and have no rubber on them.

Keep - Though you seem to have decided to anyway.

Why pay depreciation on a Wee, then get a Glee and do the same? Keep the Wee now you are at the point that the depreciation has tailed off a lot, then get something else in 5 years time (or longer).

I wonder if his £7k asking price is why he will give you £4k part exchange .. I was offerred £2.200 for my K7 against this price

http://milleniummotorcycles.suzukigb.co ... el=V-Strom 650 ABS

So I would have paid £3200 difference

He only had a white one and seemed very keen to sell it, I would have preferred to be able to choose my own colour. Perhaps it was a to good be true thingy.  :)

Yeah, based on my little bit of bike shopping experience... that's a very high dealer part-ex price and also a very high price for a new Glee. It's the price to change that matters. In future, I'm not even sure I'm going to bother asking what the sale price and part-ex price is... just the price to change.

+1  and strip all your accessories off ,, or sell private with accessories to someone who appreciates them. In fact the salesman said as much £2200 is a £850 drop since I bought it last July (from the same dealer)

plus the screen £120, PC8 and head light looms £136, heated grips £74, Quill exhaust £300 plus other bits

In the end I couldn't be bothered making the change the Glee IMHO is not £3200 better....

You're  right in what you're saying. It's not until you look at replacing all the bits that you've added on that you realise how much that price of change is. The dealer was glibly saying, centre stand £137, hand guards  £40 and so it went on.
I think since I've started watching Andrea Roo  :)  I've become more sensible and cautious!  :shy: And definitely less impetuous  lol

Actually I must amend the mileage. I went over to Alston and the Hartside cafe on Saturday so what with that and the trip to Squires I've now got 2080 on the clock  :occasion-balloons: plus a very dirty bike from the deluge there and back. Still it was worth it just for the calorietastic cakes..  :)

I was told at my last part-ex hunting around that if the new bike costs less the trade in value will be 'keen', if the price of the new bike is higher, trade in is more - but you end up paying the same difference

I think that is what I said .. in a slightly different way

If I can stick £1500 on my sell price of any bike then you can have a great trade in price....its just bollocks.

I was only losing £200 more than Jeff and his is a newer bike

Stromivarius, apologies, there was a slight *cough* technical glitch *cough*. The truth is that you double posted (same post twice) and 2 moderators deleted the double post 1 second apart. The problem was that the one mod deleted the 1st of the two posts and the other one the 2nd of the two posts. In effect, we deleted both posts 1 second apart with out one knowing the other did something until it was too late. Unfortunately there is no undelete feature for us. It's very unusual for something like this to happen.

Could you repost you comments, please?
