Hello Longman, all

Thought I would start the ball rolling by putting my name forward in a pool of folks interested in both HEED crash bars and sump guard for a more generous discount.  And if the costs can be further reduced by shipping, bank transfers, that would be great.  Anyone else in?

hi
if we get few people to order I will contact HEED and ask them for sale outside ebay with direct bank transfer and sea shipping for further discount

Yeah they look well made , I may be buying the sump guard in the near future too , the plastic one is nice but not my cuppa coffee really.

The welds on those bars look very neat, a good indication that they are going to hold up well and that they are made by someone that knows what they are doing :thumb:

The only thing I don't like is the plastic end cap, but that's just being picky, there might be a good reason for it? I guess you could take it off, spray some ACF-50 in there and then close it again with a bit of PTFE tape or such to seal the end properly.

Juvecu makes a good point, might be worth sticking a rubber seal on that plug just to ensure nothing gets into the middle of the bars. I don't see why they didn't just fill that in so that no water can get in. Might even be able to just use some leccy tape on it , idk.

I did take the caps off before fitting and sprayed loads of ACF in . I don't think they will let water in as they are very tight and have 3 ribs to seal like this   http://www.brooksforgings.co.uk/plastic-end-caps.asp   when pushed in the seals/ribs fold back .

I bought and fitted the HEED crash bars last week direct from HEED.  They were delivered 3 days after placing the order, took about 20mns to fit, no probs and look great.

Hopefully I'll never 'use' them but so far they're 'fit-n-forget' and I've not noticed their presence.  No vibration up to M-way cruising speeds.

Ordered HEED crash bars off ebay last week.  Arrived today and took 30 minutes to fit, pretty easy.  Look really good and they are substantial.  Thoroughly recommended!

hi friend ,
why the extra bit of steel between bars and engine plate?
don't they fall both where they should ?leaving a gap between them ??

I am ready to get the set , also not yet decided for steel or alum engine guard?
what do you think?

I have tried to email the company twice and no reply.
I really want one of their skid plates for my 2013 DL650. Does anyone know if it's compatible with oem Suzuki crash bars and does the Suzuki centre stand work with it?
