Get in! Suzuki have grey Vstroms in stock and so my deposit is down.

Thanks to everyone for their top tips on this thread, I did speak to Brian at J&S who was really helpful however I ended up dealing with Nigel at Alford Bros. in Folkstone because of convenience especially with my p/x Scooter (20 miles awway as opposed to 220 miles). Having dealt with Nigel I do feel I got a good deal, which is nice.

So if you're intested I put together my own adventure pack which was:

Suzuki lower cowling, centre stand & knuckle guards
Daytona heated grips
MRA screen (COL57779, the slightly taller one)
Give plate and V46 tech box
Givi TN532 engine bars
12v socket

I also went for an Oxford chain, disc lock and stormex cover (not sure if that will fit with the screen though)

So, look out for a grey Vstrom in the Canterbury/Ashford area (and en-route between there and Bath/Wiltshire) soon:)

Bonza!! Picked her up on Monday and here she is...

I'll get a better photo of the front asap, this one was a rush job!

Need to tweak a couple of things like the handlebars and suss out the best position for the screen (not sure if I've been given the right screen, I asked for the large MRA). Only 100 miles done so far, looknig forward to getting out of the running in period!

I'll go and introduce myself properly soon on the introduction board.

Looking forward to years of happy Vstromming.

Mark

Looking mighty fine Mark,
I've got the same Givi bars on my Glee,  also ordered the Suzuki belly but the supplying dealer said when he went to fit the belly pan with the Givi bars he would of had to cut chunks out of the pan to get it fit, does it look like your pan has been modified/cut to fit?
I've ordered the Givi pan, should be in Tuesday but looking at the photos not as pretty as the Suzuki one,
Slightly regretting it though as yours looks good.

I had a quick look yesterday and it doesn't look like the pan's been cut. It is close around the front top of the pan where the bars connect   right next to the pan but no cutting that I could see. To be sure I'll take some pictures next week when I'm back (I'm flying away and escaping this rain for a week  :) ) so you can see what they've done.

That really is grey isn't it! I didn't see that in the choice of colours when I was looking , it was white , black or fox orange  :-x

Looks just like mine but grey :) So how much did you pay for your own adventure pack?

Thanks for the welcome from the  various people  :)

Jimbo, I paid about £1,100 for the following, all fitted:

Suzuki lower cowling, centre stand & knuckle guards
Daytona heated grips
MRA x-screen  (the slightly taller one)
Givi plate and V46 tech box
Givi TN532 engine bars
12v socket
Oxford HD chain, disc lock and stormex cover
Can of Chain lube and ACF50
On the road Reg, tax and tank of fuel

The tips on this thread and others on this forum really helped me get to know what I was after so thanks again to everyone for the help.

Some more pictures for you whilst out of the rain at some west country stables:

Yorkie, it seems the cowling was cut to fit the Give bars:

One thing, with the back box a bit heavy, I need to dip the lights down. I've read on here that I need to turn the screw beneath each light clockwise, canI check is it the one below inside of the light (cross head) or below outside (hex key)?

If the lights are correct without the box on then it will be better to put some rear preload on instead when you fit the box. That will let the rear suspension ride at the correct height again and the front to rear balance will be back to normal (and your lights will shine in the right place :))

Without meaning to sound thick, which means I probably will, what exactly does "put some rear preload on" mean? Is it stiffening the rear suspension by turning the dial/handle thing by the seat? Clockwise? Roughly half a turn? Couple of turns? I've not touched suspension before so am a newbie to this.

basically it means stiffening the rear suspension, on my vee all I need to do is turn the black handle (knob) on the right hand side just behind the engine

Yes - clockwise but 1/2 a turn will do nothing. If you look from the left hand side at your rear shock you will see, just below the adjuster ring on the top of the shock, a series of lines. More lines showing = more preload. You'll have to turn the Black dial by the seat 10 times or so (at least a lot as I didn't count them!) to get an extra line showing. There is a picture of the lines in the Owners Manual.

There are something like 37 clicks from stop to stop. You'll wind a long time before making a lot of difference. Also, you are not making the suspension stiffer. That would require a spring change. You are just changing the ride height or sag. You want to set it so the suspension settles at about 40mm from full extension with the bike carrying its full load including people. That leaves some movement for extension so the suspension won't top out but saves most of the travel for compression to prevent bottoming out. You need both. If the suspension bottoms out at that setting, you need a stronger spring.
