I want more MPG!

It is wonderful what having the wife on the back of the bike an do for you mpg. My Vee goes from an 32 mpg up to 42 if she is on the back.
Mind you,it does take soooooooo much longer to get there!

Now, here's a funny thing.

I was riding up the M6, M74 home from the Peaks yesterday when suddenly I got 20 miles less out of a tank of fuel than I would expect. On investigation there was nothing wrong with the Glee but my camping chair was bungeed on the back seat and it's canvas bag was frayed to shreds by the wind at both ends! A friend whom I had passed said it was flapping wildly in the wind - just the ends, about 3 or 4 inches each side.

It just goes to show the dramatic effect aerodynamics can have.

urrmmm wonder what this would look like if you put it in the wind tunnel and used the smoke trail???  





I got about 49mpg going to ST6 with the mrs on the back and when coming back I got 43mpg
Recently she's getting 54-58mpg with topbox always fitted
(also I was using fuel from the tank to power the stove that weekend)
