Glee ??
« on: April 09, 2013, 18:27:26 »
Every time I hear the G word it makes me cringe anybody else dislike it ? Surely there must be a better adjective that doesn't sound so "camp". It make s me want to sell the bike and get a Grrrr Tiger.

Call it whatever you want. I needed a name to use on all forums and there was no consensus reached on any of them. As long as we know what people mean, I don't see any importance. I'm probably old and secure enough for glee to mean happiness. Those who think Glee is gay or gay is bad, deal with it. Gladius based engine in the Vee, Wee tradition and making me happy fits my thoughts nicely. BTW, it took me about two years to use "Wee", then I found acceptance within.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

Yes - nicely put :thumb:

For my money, there's just a hint of self-mockery, a lack of pretention, in both names - wee and glee - which fits the character of the bikes just right , too

But the Glee is a fun bike that doesn't take itself too seriously... hence why it's cooI! Therefore, Glee is a perfect name for it! :)

I seem to remember "Wee2" was the most popular name in a ballot when the new DL650 was introduced, and that's what I call mine. I don't want mine to be in any way associated with a rubbish tv series from across the pond.
