Weaving
«

Hello!
So having had by wee-strom (?) a couple of weeks now I've found it weaves a bit from 50mph upwards I.e. the faster I go the worse it gets. This is without panniers on.
Just wondering if this is typical of the bike or whether I need to be looking at something?
Thanks for any advice.
Ian

One thing that can cause weaving is too tight steering head bearings. It's certainly not normal. tyre wear is another.

Start by checking your tyre pressures and tyre wear.

Square tyres = weave.

it's an Americanism filter, so we all have to speak proper Engerlish
you'll get the idea after a while it's usually quite funny!

the bloody thing weaved like a paper plane in a 80mph crosswind when I got mine, the PO had squared the front and rear tyres in 4,401 miles. yes squared off the front too!
God I hated the trailwings!

Aerodynamics can also play a part in this. The conservatory at higher speeds can give lift, even more noticeable with a passenger & or loaded with luggage. No big deal, just a bit disconcerting! Easy/cheap remedy is to drop the yokes 10mm over the forks & crank up the rear shock to max - go for a scoot.
