F1 on dash ,any ideas ?
« on: February 01, 2013, 15:46:47 »
Hi folks,

I have a 2010 WEE with 18k miles on it that on a few occasions in the last six months ( about 6k miles) has displayed F1 on the dash when I initially turn the ignition on . There's also no sound from the fuel pump but if I turn  the ignition off then start again everything's fine. Any ideas ,is this anything to be concerned about ?

Thanks for any advice.

When the FI is displayed, use the spare key to get under the seat and jumper the dealer mode connector to read the trouble code. http://www.vstrom.info/Smf/index.php/topic,7061.0.html

Trouble starting as you described is often a C42 code that means the resistance read off the ignition switch is out of range. A marginal contact in the switch or wire connection to the switch is commonly the problem if you read a C42.

I have plates in my left hand and wrist. That the animated wolf I found has bionics in about the same place is an interesting coincidence.
