I have been reading up on how you perform the shim adjustment process and in particular have been looking at Nick (ntm)'s guide over at Stromtrooper (
http://www.stromtrooper.com/maintenance-how/27756-DL650-valve-adjustment-notes-tips.html).
In the section "Disassembly" Nick lists the first task as "Remove the cowling as a single piece".
I haven't been able to find a reference to this yet and was wondering if anyone else had experience of this process? I found a video of someone removing the tank
without removing the panels and covers (
), but am not convinced this is the same thing (cause he doesn't actually remove the cowling).
There is of course the masterclass in tank removal as provided by Dr Vstrom, but that is a belt and braces approach.
Any thoughts please?
