how would you fix it?
« on: January 05, 2013, 17:22:12 »
As below, I'm wanting to attach my bikevis bullets to the bottom of my hand guards, as the bottom of the hand guards are too narrow to support them, how would you support them?

I was thinking of supergluing a small piece of plastic to fill the gap, and then sticking the bullet to it with its sticky pad, but after some advice?

Many thanks,

Mal

What with heated grips, I don't really need the undercovers - thanks for the idea though...

I fitted mine after the heated grips,, I found that with my normal grasp of the controls my finger ends still got cold,,, Been out today for the first time with heated grips and extra underguards and it was Toasty  :thumb:

What about some small stainless brackets , fixed to the handguards with a pop rivet . Something like this

hi there

Supaglue and sticky pads 'ain't going to work with vibration, road shock, wind resistence and the occasional sunny days all working against you.
Screws, nuts and bolts is the way to go :fix:

I guess a right angled bracket, pop riveted in place may be the way to go... now where can I get a bracket?!

Have you thought of this super-strength stuff

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3M-DUAL-LOCK- ... 0518242664

4 pads of it hold the large plastic headlight protectors in place on the bike, all weathers, speeds, never failed...

Undercovers.....mmmm that sounds like a great idea for us cold fingered riders. Were they Blue Petered or are they a purchasable item? Can't really venture out for long rides under 8oC anymore.....

I'm also interested in what you'd recommend securing the cable inside the hand guard with - gaffa tape?!
