At 31, do I qualify as a moaning old git? Not sure, I'm certainly starting to feel like one.

I've been back to phones 4 U more recently to discuss an upgrade and had a very similar experience. They have absolutely no interest in what you want, and constantly push you to buy something more expensive that you neither want nor need. It really is the most irritating shop I have ever visited!

When I'm in a situation like that I generally start by telling them I'm a buyer by trade, I negotiate for a living, If you want any commission at all listen to what I want, or I walk- only the shockingly stupid try to sell then, they usually start to serve !
My last conversations about phones included the lines, are you a boss - you sound like a boss
& you are a very scary lady I will not charge your account for this

The "funny handshake" is a very useful asset and can get you into very well paid jobs and out of situations that could get "normal folks" in serious shite. Can't think why I was never asked to join the club. Never wanted to wear a pointy hat either...

So we could start a vstrom lodge with the number 650 in it: the united vstrom 650 lodge of the United Kingdom, registered with the united grand lodge. With 6 meetings a year plus the ladies night. One difference.
All lodge procedure will be done on your bike. 1st degree done with the blind fold on! Rising from the grave without it causing a slip with out the widows son falling off. Once we have a "master" installed in the ( bike) chair we could move on and start up a chapter.....you will not even need a Harley !!! Then on to start a " mark" mason not forgetting these chapters meet at least 4 times a year , so we could all met up 13 times a year. Oh then there's the lodge of instruction meetings they met every other week.

Or we could just not bother...............lol ........  :lala:  :neen:

No secrets about Freemasons, just as there is no secrets in government, the round table, major company's doing business, just that some are taught to be cautious in all their lawful undertakings and that a widows son can always be a Lewis....... :)))

I just went up a trouser waist size. Fiddle!
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.

The stitching gave way in an instant. It was time to stop kidding myself. I also need to moan more since this is going to be expensive. I'm going to need new riding pants and a new heated jacket.

Well...new kit, there's always a silver lining! (or something more breathable, preferably).

You can always exercise it off (in theory). I'm 5'8", and have a 36" trouser waist size now... :shy: biggest I've ever been. I wanted new trousers from the NEC bike show in Birmingham (the one over here!) a couple weeks ago, and kept trying on basically 34" waists, took me -thicko that I am- a while to work out I'd become fatter. Now I have little excuse in the form of injuries to stop me exercising seriously, I'm going to do it this holiday...so my old-git-moan is about How bloody unfair that us humans have to age at all

I blame the Universe, or at least the Illuminati !

Which one's take socks out of the closet hamper and leave coat hangers? Or are socks the larval form of hangers.

I'd like to find the place in the Universe where all the odd socks go. There must be loads of mine there. I believe this is going to be the next major experiment at CERN in Switzerland.

I haven't added my tuppence worth here for a while so here we go.

Who in Heavens name decided that garages selling petrol should be called 'Service Stations'? Exactly what element of service do they offer? I have to do everything myself, that's 'Self Service' you Marketing Moron! Sometimes I even have to take take my helmet off so they can allegedly tell whether I'm 18 or not  - just look at the wrinkles through the visor slot you d*ckhead! And while I'm on, clear off and do your shopping at a Supermarket or a local proper shop so I can just pay for my fuel without missing a mortgage payment or needing another shave and haircut before I get served. And clean up the spilled diesel every now and then rather than relying on my Bike tyres to mop it up.

There, I feel better now!

Marks & Spencers - Why give everyone a turkey collection time of 10am and then queue them up saying the tills don't open until 10:30. The result - The queue was so long we actually had to go outside the shop after collecting the Turkey in order to queue to get back in to where the till is to pay the last couple of quid we couldn't pay as they wouldn't take the whole amount as the deposit in the first place.

Then, don't use the Sunday Trading Laws as your excuse for the people in the queue, just put 10:30 on the order notes so people only turn up when the shop is open and we can pay for it.

Bah! Glad bloody Christmas is out of the way for awhile!

And why does nobody post up in this thread anymore? Waste of a perfeckly good thread ###

And me: why, just because I'm in the house waiting for a delivery, do I feel justified in sitting on my arse all morning posting bollocks on the web, and watching stupid Youtube when I've got a list of stuff piling up?? ###
Stupid sod! right I'm off.

Glad to see you had a great Christmas and New Year!!

Also got to get my arse in gear. 'Strom needs service plus rear tyre and brake pads, XL125 needs new head gasket and Sunbeam engine and gearbox need putting together. Also got to put new en suite into spare bedroom, roof insulation and heating systems. Knew I shouldn't have given up working for a living!
