Getting there, about 95% I guess.  Back into the training and racing but still sore after a big week or a long race. Can't drive/ride a motorbike for long distances either, back start hurting quite a lot!

Not that I am moaning though! lol!  :neen:

50 BBC olymic channels on SKY and they still have to take up the whole bleedin evening on BBC 1 with some big earred crisp eatin bloke telling me how unfortunate the womens gymnasts were to come 8th!  Do they really think that everyone who pays a licence fee wants to see olympic coverage ALL DAY EVERY DAY? Surely that's what these sputnik channels were for! Where's the good old fashioned 'council telly'? Are they saving up episodes of Eastenders to play back to back through September?

Here in France knocking a cyclist off his bike will probably result in a trip to, and long stay in the Bastille. They are very protective and respectful of them here and give them loads of room when overtaking them. However, cyclists don't seem any more sensible here. I passed a group of them today whilst out in the car, all kitted out in their lycra, riding 3 and 4 abreast on a bendy country road and they were quite difficult to pass. The benefit of all this is that motorcyclists tend to be treated with similar respect by other road users.

Jeez! I just hate it when perfectly good threads that are doing a good job performing a public service get ignored and consigned to the ethereal bloody dustbin of history, when they could be soaking up the bilious opinions of disgruntled bikers (especially of the more mature persuasion) and keeping their vitriol offof the streets of our nation...

There, I said it.

Oh, and I hate spotting a potentially useful smilie exactly too late, at the wrong time, so here.............. :occasion-olympics:

It really annoys me when out of date signage for village fetes etc is left cluttering up the verges for months after the event has been and gone.  Out of date posters around my village also get my goat, I take great delight in ripping down any that I find.

Totally unconnected but the fact that Eurotunnel are going to charge me £30 return for each of our greyhounds to sit in the back of our estate car when I can take a people carrier full of passengers for no extra cost. Why? Because they can I suppose.

Going for a lie down now.

when in Cornwall last year, on every bloody road had sings saying "temporary road surface"
should have been re-written "shiyt road surface, sorry we're skint cos we're all claiming for extra homes we never use and make profit renting them out. we'll resurface it after the next election, honest, the other bastards won't, we promise!"

If I should ever be unlucky enough to die in an accident. Please don't leave flowers by the road. And if you do please don't leave them to die and rot for months...

......there, I finally said it. It's bad enough for the victim's family, but they end up having to clear up the mess because no-one else will touch it.

+1 for that, we've still got 'Caution Lambs!' boards out around here.

Not meaning to start Fatbelly off, like, but had a cyclist incident yesterday: the sod was sitting on his bike broadside across my lane (I was in the car) chatting to his girlfriend who was in the middle of the road on her bike, waiting for the traffic to pass in the other lane...I slowed down, disbelieving, and he just looked at me disdainfully and carrried on chatting! Cars were starting to gather behind my car, and he reluctantly swung his bike into line with the centre of the road...so the two of them were now in the middle of the carriageway on their bikes with vehicle traffic flowing both ways....thick tw**s!

+1 Some of them are muppets....

People who pull out in a car, truck, anything at what should be a safe distance and proceed to do 20mph, seemingly forgetting how to accelerate, these people are at their worst in 60 limits as well! Happened to me twice this morning!  Also muppets!

The ones you mention sharpy, some of them are so obviously self-righteous about it as well ..." Look at me, I'm so within the speed limit I am extra safe and therefore a superior driver. I should get a knighthood, really."

The other ones who do the same are just old, and can't rely on their speed of thought or perceptual abilities - poor old sods. Still shouldn't be on the roads though ###

Luckily having retired (from paid work that is) to rural France where I now have a house to renovate, I no longer have to deal with my pet commuting hate which was cretins in cars who sit in the right hand lanes on dual carriageways doing  50mph when the left lanes are clear. You ride up behind them, hoping they are awake and wait for them to pull over so you can overtake. Of course they do not. So you toot the horn, to no avail. Flash the headlight with similar results. Hold the horn on for several seconds along with headlight on main beam and nothing. Drop the bike down a couple of gears whilst blipping the throttle and hope that the race cans will finally wake them. Yet more of the same. Worse case scenario is that they wake up and hit the brakes, so don't get too close to them. What do you do? I regularly ended up blasting past on the inside using right arm and appropriate finger to indicate to the moron where they should be.  Over the years I had two retards who actually tried to knock me off (in 4X4s) and I ended up carrying a foot long 1/2 inch extension bar in my tank bag just in case I need to deal with any roadside emergencies.

Some of those 4x4s are complete retards.I prefer to stay at least a lane away from them , they honestly don't seem to know how to look for anything. I mean , I understand they are big cars and its hard for them to see a bike but I'm sitting atop a vstrom which is at least equal hight and try to position myself far enough back so that they can see me but you can still see them just move without even moving their head!

I'm sure its a select few but honestly , they seem to buy these cars with the sole intent of running people over and crashing into people.

I'm not even old...

What really irritates me are people, particularly those in the press (tv), who say, I "hat" to do this, or they "hat" done that, instead of saying "had" or "have".

And.....those who start a sentence with "I mean" !
