After a six year break eh! Take care when filtering.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

Thanks Brockett. I have no plans to filter with these on (yet!)... My cunning plan will be to use either mirror extensions or cable ties to help gauge the width if I do need to filter.

The real test will be with the panniers and mountain bike when I get around to testing that setup as the MTB handlebars will something else to think about

I had the tank off to investigate a fault and give the linkages a bit of TLC, while I was there I put in a new air filter and then that of course prompted me to change the oil too. :auto-dirtbike:

Keep them below your headlight legio, can't go wrong then.

MOT tester was playing with mine when it went for MOT. Only wired to come on with high beam as I find my bikes headlamp is decent enough as it is for low beam! Similar alignment to yours, and lights the verges lovely and just gives a little extra illumination.

Had nothing in the fridge for lunch so we thought, why drive to the shops when you could ride to Matlock.
Chips were eaten, bikes were looked at (including a tidy 03 Vee) and the missus' Scrambler promptly weed out a little oil, Audi my arse  :icon_wink:

So, after fiddling with the bike all day (and not actually doing the big job I was planning to do... that's for tomorrow), I've noticed something.

You have the two pipes from the cylinders, but there's a third pipe that seems to come off near the front downpipe, and joins in just before the upward section towards the end can on the rear cylinder pipe.

Does anyone know why this third pipe is here?

I'd have to look at the bike to be sure, but are you talking about a balance pipe linking the exhaust pipes front and rear.
If you are well it's......err......a balance pipe.

Upt north, I think it's a balance pipe 😂 I was having a bit of a moment where 1 + 1 =/= 3!

Not today but this week, took out the eBay lock set and replaced with a used genuine set and then spent a few quid on parts, hyperpro rear shock, standard seat, new chain, front caliper rebuild kits, hel braided hoses, new brake pads all round. Almost got all the parts to start the recommissioning

Sorted out the accessories connectors as the old bullet connectors I had were hit and miss and sometimes were not making a contact. Used automotive connectors. 1h of soldering but it was worth the hassle :)

Went out and about today, approx 50-60 miles, saw another 650 (blue, 2017+) and reciprocated a nod. No obvious difference from the suspension work (which I suppose is good, as I've not made it worse!), and just enjoyed a pootle around with some decent weather.

Nearly dropped it on a steep right hand junction when I stalled it half way... but didn't! So there's that  :haha: bet the car behind had a giggle

Fitted Oxford Mirror Extensions.....very nice, easy peasy  :thumb:
Fitted Pyramid Front mudguard Extender, nice but a flamin nuisance to fit  :icon_no:
TRIED to fit Puig Hugger. Instructions were borderline useless and they hadn't put the rubber well nuts in, which aren't well nuts at all  ###.
Oh well, two out of three ain't bad.
