Had some work done, prior to sticking it a crate for its journey from Auckland to Melbourne.
New chain & spocktes -   lasted 19,500 miles
New f+r tyres (anakee3) lasted 14,800 miles
New head bearings -       lasted 34,500 miles.

Pretty good I feel considering it’s carrying 2 middle aged spreaders plus a ton of luggage.

:text-goodpost: more proof (if any were needed) of just what a brilliant bike the 650 is.  :thumb:

Removed rear wheel, cleaned wheel, chain and rear caliper piston. Reassembled and adjusted chain.. Noticed stock rear tyre is severely squared off after 5900.

Never did like these Battleflaps much anyway - dry or wet!

If it has two wheels.. I'll ride it.

Lincsman, to fit those gaitors did you have to remove the forks? or did you slice them and cable tie?

If they have a strobe function, it can be disabled on some models by removing the 'U2' chip from the circuit board.

Sorry for the late reply. I dropped the forks. They were a perfect fit. I then used cable ties to keep everything where it should be. The kit actually came with steel jubilee clips which I didn't expect, but as they would look awful after a while I just used black cable ties.

If you have the choice then   :thumb: (the last ones I had cycled  modes everytime the ignition was switched).

Today I went out for the first time in 2 weeks. Good to get back on the bike even if it was only an hour each way down the motorway  :auto-dirtbike: was a bit chilly which makes me glad I have heated grips and a heated jacket  :sunny:

Rode back from Liverpool in very wet conditions. Ended up filtering over the Pennines as the M62 was a car park. Must do something about the visor on my helmet as rain managed to get in between the visor and pinlock which makes seeing where you're going interesting. Could have been an easy fix if I didn't manage to snap the pin off the visor  :dl_smiley_banghead:

I have removed my juddery rattly clutch and posted it off to John @ vibe free today  for modification, so while casing is off I'm going to spray it up to get rid of all corrosion,
cheers Colin

Full service with new tyres, chain, sprockets and the heated grips re-glued  :fix:  as the glue kept melting when they were on..... adjusted the rear spring to stiffen it up a little and gave it a damm god clean

Ready for 2nd Jan when we are back to work and the daily commute to London :-)  :lala:
