I like that colour change and the finish looks top quality. Are you doing it or getting it done?

Am doing it myself at the mo anyway. First attempt at the beak has started OK but didn't end well. Will try again.  :angry-banghead:

That beak looks perfect (discarded on the floor)  :thumb:

Could you add a picture of your bike without the beak fitted?

Picked up my new bike once home I fitted a Monkey base plate and Trekker 46ltr top box and then a rear hugger to keep the crap off

then added my ram mount for the phone.
Ours is not to reason why, ours is but to do or die.

I think Suzuki made a mistake fitting the beak to both the A and XT models from 2017. Looks better like that and just needs an infill panel to be fitted. Calls for someone who knows how that 3D printing lark works.

It was 2014 when the nonsense started. With some creative infill panels that would look significantly better.

+ some twin headlights and it'd be much better. I'd rather have a Vee looking like that rather than the BMW-wannabe route Suzuki went down...

Today I had the sad job of preparing the V-Strom for its next owner  :bawl:

It started last week when I serviced it and fitted a new LH Switch assy (indicator switch failed) would sya cannot grumble as it had done over 40k and is 13 years old, but almost £200 new I must say Shame on Suzuki, got a good one for £25 from a breaker.

Whilst having the MOT done last Saturday I saw a nice WR I fancied and was going to ask about trade in, but the WR was already sold - but I was offered a good cash price for the Strom, so after 5 years ownership and @17,000 miles I have lost £500 - cheap biking!

My mileage on the Strom has been low in the last few years, and the £250 a year for insurance / Tax / MOT / Oil & Filter is not really justified and can be put towards the depreciation on putting those miles on my other two bikes and the car.

Today I removed the shiny Nitron shock and put the OE one back on (Nitron in for sale section, fits 2004 - 2011) http://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=34841

Thanks to everyone I have had banter with and help from, particularly pre-purchase of the 650, and for Locky for selling such a great machine to me (well the Mrs originally)

A great bike, typically ridden by very nice people and I hope the next owner gets the same joy from it my and the Mrs did.

Fitted a pyramid belly pan.
One positive is no need to remove to access or remove oil filter  :thumb:

Call me an old fashioned misery but if you don't fit a mudguard extenda will not the belly pan get caked inside with road crud from front wheel splatter? Is the belly pan the reason for the exhaust wrap? I only ask because I think the wrap will cause the exhaust to overheat. or is it the rat bike look you like (that's o.k. each to their own). Otherwise the bike looks very nice.

Hello Brockett, wrapped the exhaust when I first got the bike 2yrs ago - too much bother polishing the exhaust / poor imitation rat look ( I am a fussy bugger ).
The belly pan and mudguard thingy was what you blokes recommended when I asked on mods etc...
I wanted to see how I get on with the pan and do the mudguard if needed at a later date.
See I turned my back and you've changed another bike, good on you :thumb:

Dropped it at a crossroads half a mile from home, waited for a couple of cars to pass.Stalled it as I set off, just could not hold it and it went gently onto the floor.Broken indicator, scratched crash bear and a cracked hand guard.A couple of drivers stopped and gave me a lift to stand it up,thanks gents.Fitted an old indicator from my old Trans Alp,welded the hand guard and cleaned up and painted the crash bar.Dropped my Pan Euro four times in the ten years I had it,every time with wifey on the back,we were quite adept at picking it up.First time for this bike.Downside is,I was on my way to a club day out, could have been worse I suppose.Suzuki indicators are expensive, think I will have to spend half an hour on Fleabay.

Happens to us all mate..

Rode to work and back today. The heatsoak of this engine in high T's (was 30C here today) makes the fueling at low rpm/throttle spot-on perfect! Stopped on the way home at tescos for Gin  :sunny:, and for 2 minutes after pulling out the throttle was perfect. So smooth down low. Lovely.

I guess the IAT sensors are reading engine heat-soak, and fueling is adjusted accordingly for a few minutes after starting until cooling reverts to std.

Would be nice to have this effect on a switch for low rpm filtering, rough road standing etc - but not completely sure of all the heat soak effects so posting here...

Could a switchable resistor on the IAT Sensor re-create this?
If it has two wheels.. I'll ride it.
