Rusty - yes and I have to phone her to confirm my safe arrival back home.
Mick - My Mum knows everything without being told .... Mum-Radar so no fooling her.
Ian -  yes we'd be like twins.

Rode it like a maniac trough Stelvio pass, both directions. Scraped footpegs, lost all chicken strips I had. All this with ~30kg of luggage. Took it down gravel Road and rode it trough another 5 mountain passes. BEST DAY EVER.
Seen total of 4 v-stroms and countless herds of BMW's

BTW, in a day of mountain passes full of hairpins and overtakes between them my little beast returned 60 Mpg.

Just found out my Givi bars broke. Complete crack that separated the bars on left side. I can see, as the two parts of the broken tube do not align, that the bars were with lot of tension (mounted by me, two yours ago, and had to stretch parts a lot to align the holes and bolt them on). I'll go and weld them but keep the misalignment so they lose all the tension. Don't know about right side of the bars. Will wait and see if it cracks too.

2 days ago I added a few things to my bike, bought some e22 panniers which give reasonable capacity and easily allow me to still filter. Added a yellow tint to the sidelights and fitted a gamma tronix battery indicator after my rectifier made me anxious about riding long distance on it after it needed replacing, everything fared well in the crap weather.

Went up to Hertfordshire to visit my mum, about 85 miles I needed the space (had my kriega r30 too) as I was going to costco with her, rained all the way there and most of the way back. Last night on my way home there were 4 pieces of wood about 3ft by 3ft, at 70mph on the slip road I thought they were cardboard but found out I was wrong after dodging 2 but the 3rd kicked up somehow and I couldn't dodge it in time, the wood smacked my foot and damaged the rubber coating on my boot. My big toe is sore and swollen but I got away very lucky, bike was undamaged too thanks to the sump guard, if I had panic braked I expect in the wet I would of ended up on my side. I believe the car in front of me may of sent it backwards as it went over it and it got air underneath which sent it high enough to smack my foot.

Sounds like that could have been nasty.!
How do you find the panniers.? Like the idea of some slimmer top-loading ones myself.

In Bormio there are signs for another pass( can't remember name now)  worth going for. Road is narrow and bumpy,  but much more picturesque than stelvio.

They aren't too bad price wise, paid £120 from sportsbikeshop where I usually buy stuff from. They are definitely waterproof as it properly lashed it down at times, you won't fit loads in them but if you have a big top box that isn't such a big problem, they are very slightly wider than the bike so filtering was easy and this was my main reason for choosing them over a larger box, if my mirrors and bars fit then I'm confident I can get through. They seem to have a bit of flex unlike my givi top box, I probably put over the 5kg weight limit and nothing bad happened, when riding it is easy to forget they are there. Not sure if 2nd hand E21 boxes would be a cheaper bet if you only want them to use occasionally, they still seemed to go for £70 plus posted on evilbay and E22 model looks much nicer.

Do you always strap your rubber on the day before?

Mounted my Dirft Stealth 2 that's non replaceable battery has lost most of it's battery capacity. I managed to find a bloke on ebay that sells 3D printed hatches for them that allows a charger to be plugged in.

@bigpie Have you tried it yet ? I'm looking to mount a camera somewhere that doesn't vibrate as much as the engine bars.  :thumb:

Started to strip the front end down. Unfortunately I couldn't loosen the bolt from the bottom of the fork leg. I need to buy a hex bit socket as my allen key won't loosen it. What's worse is now the fork legs are off I'm going to have to cycle 6 miles each way to buy one  :bawl:

@user650 I've not checked the footage yet. I'll check when I get home if I remember to pull the card.

I rode up to North Wales at the weekend, staying overnight at the Ponderosa cafe by the Horseshoe pass. Some spectacular clouds on Sunday morning, and some interesting bikes, such as this Ossa, in the carpark ... and all before 9 o'clock on Sunday morning!
All told, some 510 miles ... some cracking roads, and scenery, and the Glee behaved impeccably :)

Just changed oil and filter.... nice straightforward job, and for once I didn't end up with old oil running up my sleeve
