Oh ye gods, mine's been sat on the kitchen worktop for weeks now... it's high time I grew a pair and tried fitting it!

I fitted my 'V-Strom.co.uk' decals front & rear and took it for a quick spin, nice.

Fine choice, they make you far more attractive to the opposite sex and improve MPG.

Probably  :shy:

Just passed the MOT. I've not started it for 7 weeks, I've taken an extended paternity break an go back next week :(, it started first press and I'd forgotten how good it is to ride. The only riding I've been doing is riding the KTM to and from the MOT to try and get it though and that thing is terrible on the road.

MOT tester wants a VStrom now.

This is what you need Martin.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Martin, yours obviously need renewing (pay double for extra performance).

2112, you obviously ordered the premier sticker set  :thumb:

New front tyre. Still some life in the old one after 10.5k miles but last chance before I start commuting again next week.

Took her over 70k this week - bought her with 36 on - so almost doubled-up (and will be within the next couple of months)

Still loving the ride   :)  :dl_bike:

70k? Do you commute? Has it needed anything besides normal service items? Were valve clearances done and when?

Spent several hours giving my Glee a proper clean after a long run in heavy rain last week left it filthy.
Made the mistake of leaving it so long thinking as dry when I got home there wouldn't be a problem. However several of the socket head bolts on the engine and frame now show signs of corrosion.
Treated to a coat of FS365 to hopefully stop it getting any worse.
On the plus side my new Michelin PR4 tyres were excellent on the soaking roads and even better when it dried out as we got to the twisty lanes near Finchingfield.

Left work in Gateshead at 4.30 pm on Friday and rode up to Moffat, stayed the night in the Buccleugh Arms then on Saturday morning had a brief ride round the area before heading south to Carlisle then Cockermouth, Keswick, Kendal and Sedbergh. Stopped in Hawes for a cuppa, then on to Kettlewell. Stayed in the Blue Bell, then this morning ride through Leyburn stopping at Bellerby for coffee before heading home on Tyneside via Catterick and Richmond.

Great Ride Doug - Sounds like about 350 miles worth and a complete loop of the Pennines.

It was a brilliant weekend, just on 400 miles door to door and averaged 58mpg.

Good roads, good beer, good food with good friends, what could be better?

Must do an unashamed plug for the hotel in Moffat, the owners and staff were just so friendly and helpful.

Finally managed to get out for a good ride on Sunday, 270 miles round East Anglia, starting in Bedford, through Cambridgeshire to Norfolk, met up with some mates for a large fry up at Whitwell Station.
Then down through Suffolk to Essex to see me mum, I'm a good boy like that .
Then back across Essex through Hertfordshire to Bedford.

Bike now needs a clean but that can will be this coming weekends job.

Bought a pair of Scorpion end cans and link pipes via the forum, got home and slung them on quick so I could have a ride.

They play a very nice tune. Reasonably quiet at low revs but they certainly sing when you let it rip  :thumb:
