Topped up my Scottoiler and cleaned the 'fling' off of the drive side area and wheel.
Must remember not to check and adjust flow first thing when cold and then run in the sun all day. 110 miles last Sunday used as much oil as it normally gets through in twice that distance!

Half cooked going up the A1 in 33c heat. My mesh gear did nothing and the 'wind chill' was like a heat gun was being aimed at me. Roll on cooler weather.

Also noticed one of my Kirky lights has gone out. Looks like I'll have to make a replacement. My LED sidelights in the headlamps have also gone out too  :bawl:

Great day out in the sunshine on East Anglia's best B roads. Lunch at the Three Tuns in Finchingfield (very good food) and then back to Norfolk via more twisty roads.
Ten bikes, 220 miles and my Glee was brilliant, getting home much less tired than similar trips on my Bandit.

Yesterday, some fantastic riding round the Yorkshire Dales near Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside including Rosedale Chimney Bank which is supposed to be as steep as Hardknott Pass though doesn't seem it and nowhere near as challenging. Almost crashed too, as took my eyes off the road at low speed for a second and ended up riding into the ditch at the side of the road  :icon_no: (= bum twitch time!  :shy:) Stayed on and managed to ride straight back out...

Today tackled some maintenance - oil and filter changed (though have slightly over filled so need to drain a tad tomorrow), cleaned the air filter and made some replacement lights for my duff Kirky DRLs. Also drilled an extra hole in my cheapo fog lights to adjust them downwards so I don't blind on coming traffic.

Tomorrow, I'll fit the DRLs, including the rear set I made and need to respray my sat satnav holder as it has surface rust :fix:

Question about those lights: Do they require any other work doing to the bike, or is it just a simple screw and change?

Good ride around Bishopton area this morning then following advice from here http://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=30103.0 I took the plunge  :fix:. Cleaned the chain and checked it for tension (it's OK) then took of the sprocket cover to check the front sprocket. Had to remove the foot peg and gear lever to get at the bottom bolt and then scrape out 1/2lb of road chutney from inside the cover before I could get a good look. That was OK too so put it back together and had a quick spin around the block to make sure I hadn't boogered anything.
Job's a good n.

Went to check how much petrol was left in the tank, old style method open filler cap and look in. That's when I found I couldn't open the cap, eventually pulled it open to the sound of air being sucked in  ###. It's not been run for a few days so suspect that when it was recently serviced they may have nipped the breather pipe  :dl_smiley_banghead:. A job for me after work Saturday  :dl_hyperhysteria:.
Just to check the Gleek has a non vented cap ??

Fitted uprated o2 sensor eliminators, that should stop the fi light coming on...

While the tank was off I ac50 sprayed the electrics, and tidied things up under there.
