Left it in my garage again, got another week before the dealer can do the 600 mile service so my daily commute is on the Beemer.
How I love squeezing through traffic on something 3 foot wide.

Two 650's One even had a beak  :smirk:
As I mentioned in an earlier post 650xt Pete is in Rhayader this week for the 2 day enduro, so as it was a lovely day today we decided to have a bit of a tour around mid Wales.
Started from Rhayader, first stop the Owls nest cafe in Llandovery for an all day breakfast (I mentioned before how good this place is, maybe some of you that are coming a long way for Fat Rats August bank holiday bash will call in on your way). Then it was off to the Llyn Brianne dam which is on the mountain road out of Llandovery. Hopefully the first photo.
Then on to Aberystwyth for an afternoon tea by the beach (second photo) before returning Pete to his camp site at Rhayader.
Excellent day out, about 150 miles in all. :lala:
 :) :) :) :) :)
Hi pb (Pete ), I would just like to say thank you for spending the day with me. It was a cracking day and we both travelled on highways and byways that we had not ridden before. The poster advert was taken at the owls nest cafe. We then went over the mountain road to Tregaron  then on to Aberystwyth for afternoon  coffee. Then back to  Rhayader. We did about 150 miles and both bikes showed a average of 73 to the gallon. Never did get to see much of the enduro but there is always next year.

Just got back from my 1st ride in 5 week due to fracturing my elbow.  Good to be back, I must remember to grow up and not ride the mtb bike like an idiot.

I thought you'd been quiet. I bet busting your elbow hurts like a tw*t. I'm glad you're on the mend. :thumb:

Fitted Palmer Products screen mount. I have used a Givi Airflow for a year now and it was good but just not as good as the Madstad with standard screen that I had on my mark 1 VStrom - that was great for wind and noise control.
The PP mount with standard screen is OK but still nowhere near as good as the madstad on the mark 1 Strom.
Still, I like the adjustability and the smaller standard screen compared to the Givi seems to make the bike turn quicker in fast turns.
I'll probably sell the Givi Airflow so if anyone fancies a bargain, pm me.

MOT passed and rear tyre repaired  :thumb:

However, according to the certificate I only did 4,400 miles in 12 months  :bawl: :bawl:

Just ordered new chain and sprockets, £215 including fitting (front OEM, JT rear and DID ZVM-X Super Heavy Duty X-Ring Gold) due to be fitted in a couple of weeks  :thumb:

Cleaned it!!

To my eternal shame, in 1 year of ownership, this is the first time I've actually put soap and water to it.

I've always wiped it down, removed the bugs, cleaned the screen, etc.

I don't ride in the winter, and wouldn't intentionally go out in the rain, although there have been a few times when I've been caught out.

Thought I'd done a fairly comprehensive job, but just realised that I missed the rear of the no plate.

Fitted iridium plugs to NTBooth's bike plus sorted the wiring on the Oxford heated grips and removed the aux power socket. All nice and tidy now...

Rode it around the Fairford area, looking at all the road sign chaos being put in place for next weekend, when I won't go within 10 miles of the place in case I get stuck there.

Cleaned it at home. I'm still getting mud out of it from a really wet and horrible trip back in January.

Fitted a Pyramid front mudguard extender. Went to the local DIY store to ask what sort of glue they would recommend as I didn't want to start drilling holes in the mudguard for the self tapping screws or those silly plastic clips they provide with the kit. Sales bloke suggested lots of different glues, silicon, glue for plastic plumbing but said they were all a bit messy so also suggested "mitre fast" I've used it before in kitchen cornice and pelmet fitting but it's been improved to include plastics etc. Put adhesive on mudguard extender, spray activator on the inside of the cleaned mudguard, hold it for 10 seconds , job done and no messy glue every where. :lala:

Fitted 4 new CR8EIX plugs(front one is a bit of a pig!).They were supposed to have been changed at the 7500ml.service when I purched the bike.Yeh right, they all had about 45 thou.gaps, after 5000 mls? :icon_no: Lubed all of the linkage under the tank.Sprayed the big plug to stop corrosion(it was nice and clean anyway)Rewired the satnav to the Suzuki connection just in front of the front cylinder, that was a swine to plug the Suzuki grips connector into.Noticed the rear tyre will need renewing soon.I might buy one now as I have seen a rumour that the tyre manufacturers are putting all of their prices up on July 1st.Blew the radiator out and had a general clean up under the tank before refitting.
