Stripped out my clutch basket over the weekend and sent it off for some 'sharealike' magic. Can't wait.

Not today but Saturday, took a ride down to see Juvecu's
To buy and fit the backracks and panniers from off his iconic v-strom.
He did most of the fitting, (top bloke Juv). :thumb:

Plenty of sunshine in Wales today so I decided to go on a blast with some other members of the Kington mcc.
Set off about 11am Crossgates to Aberystwyth, down the Cardigan coast towards Aberaeron, A482 to Lampeter and Llandovery where we stopped for an all day breakfast at the garden centre cafe, back via Builth Wells and home to Llandrindod Wells. 150 mile round trip. I'm still getting to know the bike but it already feels great. Should be able to have 600 mile service some time next week. 70.4mpg on the last tank full, this bike is brill :happydance:

Small group run around mid/north Norfolk this afternoon. Nice sunshine and roads to enjoy. 110 miles just far enough on some quite small roads at times.
Off road on new Glee for first time on way to meet point when WW2 UXB closed main road and very minor back road got clogged with traffic including LGV's and buses so took to the verge to get passed arguing drivers! My Bandit wouldn't have coped with that.

Yesterday became the proud owner of another new MOT. One advisory (as expected) on front tyre, so will get one on order.

Took mine for a MOT, but washed it first, was also surprised it started as it's not been run much this year (only one day out this year).
Rear brake switch wasn't working so failed.....The MOTer had some none oem ones so was going to swap it over,  but after unbolting it, it started to work, so he cleaned it, got it working properly and put it all back together.

Passed with no advisories except a verbal one  -  to get out on the bike more.

G O N N A give Barney's Superbikes of Fort Fareham in Fareham a shout for excellent service.
Life is short - You have to enjoy it on a Wee-Strom!

Fitted the Aprilia mirrors and went out for a quick blast to see what effect it would have on the buffeting... and results were excellent  :lala: It hasn't cured it 100% (screen is OEM) but the difference is night and day. Must be the best £11 you could spend on a Strom, everyone should do it. Got them delivered within a week from here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131629594039

Stopped at the side of the road to adjust the screen height. God only knows what Suzuki were thinking when they drew that nonsense assembly up    For such a simple task it's quite a faff. Ten screws! And they couldn't even make them all the same, you need a crosshead and an allen key  :angry-banghead:

Well I've just bought a 2016 Vstrom 1000  and blew all my money on givi luggage. I needed a satnav bracket so I farkled one out of a bit of metal plate.  Saved myself 100 quid.

My first major mechanics on the Glee, remove the exhaust system for a thorough clean. Interesting how the system lowers with very little aggravation. Likewise my plan to lift the exhaust back into position using a car jack worked a treat too with a bit of wiggling and jiggling. Took my time, especially prying little black clips from the side covers, fear of breaking them. There are to many different methods holding them on/together, screws, black clips, push in socket, tucked edges and slot/slide junctions.

The headers are SS but I'm a bit worried that the black painted collector and silencer is mild steel? There was slight rust on the welds, cleaned up and sprayed with ACF 50.  :thumb:
So how's it going so far then?

Decided to take the Clutch basket off send it off to sharealike for him to do his magic on. Scottoiler with touring kit to be fitted while I patiently await the return of the basket. Then a well deserved ride out  :thumb:

Finally the spring has come to Bergen :sunny:

Fitted new SW Motech crash bars (good quality parts) before I had a 2 hour drive in the sun with my son on his Daelim 125 :)

Changed the air filter. First time I've removed the fuel tank on this bike, and pleased all was in good order underneath. :)
