Went on the moorland mc charity Easter egg run, really good day about 300 bikes I reckon but could only find one other vstrom. Had a good chat with him and mentioned the forum. :D

Checked my valve clearances and found that the majority of them are on the tight side(exhaust only). But on checking the shims they are a 288 and these are not shown on the shim selection schedule, 0nly 280, 285 & 290?
Anyone else found this before?
Yeah, not unusual for oe fitment. Actual will be 2.875 but that really is finer than splitting hairs.
Replacement shims are often at .05 graduations.

Ordered a set of Givi S310 spot lights in preparation for an upcoming trip to France.  Hope I did the right thing  :)

Rode the missus to her work (2 miles away) and going back to pick her up at 5pm as I'm taking her to Livingston tonight. 75 Miles each way. Two up and panniers on for her gear. Usual.

Payday tomorrow so scoping out chain oilers :)

Installed my home made (I am very proud of them) Kirky style DRLs. Spot on (pun intended). Looks great and good visibility too :thumb:

Taxed the old girl, waiting for the weekend weather to introduce her to 2016. Yup! Fair weather biker. Going to disconnect my faithful optimate, fire her up and give her some unleaded tomorrow.
If it's dry of course. Got new helmet, boots and gloves to road test so no rushing around for me.

Got it back. They've given it a wash and put some fuel in the tank. Felt very odd been so upright again and very gutless.

Little up date, it would appear I now have another problem.
At tick over there is an intermittent back fire. Not through the exhaust but up through the air box also a drop in revs at the same time.
Anyone have any ideas?
