Had a not so nice ride to Sheffield in the snow today. Discovered my 5 year old trousers leak slightly, my four year old Shelltex jacket's waterproof pocket isn't so waterproof, and my right TCX Infinity Gore-Tex boot is no longer waterproof - only had them since September 2013  :bawl: Off to Getgeared tomorrow to see if the boots are covered by warranty and to look at trousers. Might be expensive...

That looks interesting...

Finally waterproofed the connectors under the tank and installed my Bigpie headlight relays.

Do you have any more pictures of how you removed the airbox?

Finally managed a quick blast in readiness for next weekend's mission. Homemade heated insoles worked, new footpegs worked and no codes thrown. Chilly chest but Hondaman san idea being delivered this week.

Remnants of the last weeks gritting were quite slippy.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Great ride from York to Whitby this morning. Over the North York Moors, Thornton Le Dale and Goathland. Down to the Harbour then up to the Abby. Roads in great nick.
Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe it's not too late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate

Nearly dropped it!

I'm so annoyed with my complacency. We decided to ride to the Supermarket this morning so I calmly rode the bike out of the garage, dismounted and kicked the side-stand down. I turned to go back to the garage and found the full weight of the bike on my legs and pushing me backwards. I just caught it before the engine touched down. As I lifted the bike up the side-stand flipped back up. Yep, I hadn't extended it fully and with the slight slope the bike rolled forward. Mrs. Rocket heard my anguished scream.

Just a tuft of grass to pull off the footpeg. Lucky me............
So how's it going so far then?

Put the rest of my bike back together, managing to strip the thread off the negative battery screw. Getgeared sorted me out a new one (FOC). Once all up and running had a cold run to Boro for a surprise Mother's Day visit.

ProfG, I didn't take any other pictures yesterday when the tank was off as my hands were covered in grime, but I'll have a look to see if I have any from a previous strip down.

Edit: one thing I can suggest is if you have one,  get a flexible screwdriver (with PH1 head) and you can remove loosen the clip from the front boot without having to swing the radiator forward. (See pictures below)

The rest, loosen the Allen key from the rear boot, unplug all connectors from the rear of the airbox (one is screwed in), including the vacuum hoses from the two on the outside edge. It ought to lift off slightly. There's a clip underneath holding the breather hose on the bottom.

Edit 2: the pictures need rotating 90 degrees

Have you fitted it to the beak to be used as a crumple zone?

If you have, well done, if not, you should have. :)
