Looked out in the back yard, to make sure the cover was on properly. Then dashed back inside ,as the liquid sunshine was starting to fall out of the sky again. Thinking of moving to Portugal :sunny:
That ain't rain it's liquid sunshine 🌞

That is what I was thinking 25 years ago and finally, in 1997 I did it. First to Lisbon then three years later to southern coast. This is bikers paradise. I've been happy ever since with more then 320 riding days a year (every year), or if you don't mind a rain then it would be 365 days a year of riding.

Had a ride to Tickhill garden centre to visit the cafe. Bloody heated gloves stopped working and I had to revert to heated grips.

@Bigpie, the Tickhill Border Guards have been "let go" for such a significant lapse.

Please promise me that you will not eat at the garden centre again, they have a "reputation". :-x

We need to catch up, visit TL Towers instead. :)
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

I would have knocked on but I assumed you'd be out truckin'

I wasn't that impressed with my sandwich to be honest so will probably try elsewhere in the future.

Bought a bigpie fuse box the other week for a project that I was working on but ended up fitting it under the fairing on my 2016 v-strom to power anything bolted up front like spots, camera, grips etc as I hate loads of wires running the length of the bike :-)

Yesterday, I installed a new ebc rear disc and pads. You don't realise how much they wear down as the new pads and disc barely fit in the caliper, and there's barely any movement in the pedal. I bet when I rode it next it'll feel like I'm stamping on the brake... I also cleaned the abs ring which was looking tatty after seven winters.

At around 53,000 miles the rear disc measured 4.3mm (minimum is 4.5mm) and the new one measures 5mm.

Some pics:

That's the first change of rear disk on this bike?
What about the front disks? Have you changed them already? How many miles did they last?

That was the first change of the rear discs - I do a lot of slow speed filtering where I tend to rely on the rear brake to stop my speed creeping up, and prefer GG pads on the rear to the HH pads which I thought lacked feedback

I do need to check the front discs again - they're still the originals and the last time I checked them (some time before Christmas) they were showing c. 4.6mm (HH pads). I tend to roll off the throttle more than grabbing a hand full of brakes.

Tyres are my next priority as I still haven't done them as was waiting to change the rear disc first (Demon Tweaks took 4 days to dispatch the 'in stock & ready for immediate dispatch' disc) which currently have over 19,000 miles... annoyingly I've missed out on the Roadtec 01 offer at my local tyre shop Which ended yesterday so it looks like I'll be replacing the Dunlops with Road 5s which have an offer on them.

I also need to replace the chain and sprockets (this will be the second change - currently c. 27,000 miles on them) - I'm more concerned with how the front sprocket will look rather than the condition of the chain/rear sprocket which all seem good.

Shake down ride after winter home service and new rear tyre.
Out about an hour doing a loop that included the Snake Pass.
Chilly but sun was out and other bikes were out.

New riding season begins :lala:

With temperature sitting around 5 degrees and blue sky I thought I'd take a wee run to Braemar. Got as far as Crathie and with temperature down to 2 degrees and rain pissin doon I about turned and headed for home. Bike was caked with salt and as soon as I started washing it the rain got torrential. I persevered and the rain eventually went off. Glad I did as the bike's now sparkling and all the relevant bits are all acf50'd again. It's not been a particularly bad winter in Aberdeenshire but it seems to be never ending. Needing spring to arrive soon
