I had a local company fabricate me some neoprene fork protectors. I went and picked them up today and I’m super pleased with the outcome.

I also think these are a great idea but you can get them on good old flea bay, Have them on my Super Tenere but cut them shorter.

Yesterday.
Finally a bit of  :sunny: and a couple of hours free.
Quick run up to Howden, plenty of water this year.
Though standing below an overflowing dam in the Peak District not always a wise choice recently

Stripped, cleaned, reassembled and replaced the fluid in all the calipers.
This week I've -
Spent two hours cleaning all the grease off the chain the previous owner had liberally applied  :violence-smack:
Checked the valves, no adjustment needed
Replaced oil & filter, air filter
Synchronised throttle bodies
Used lots of ACF 50

Slowly getting to the end of the list  :lala:

@edbailey ... well done with the cover-up. I trust you have put some gaiters on the front forks.

Had a fiddle with my standard screen today. I have it set in its highest setting but with a couple of spacers on the upper pair of studs which makes it a tad more "upright".
Had a mooch about afterwards along Woodhead before cutting into Glossop and back over the Snake to Ladybower and Strines before getting home.
I'm running in at the minute so roughly 65 ish tops but it was pushing the breeze over the peak in my TourX quite nicely now👍
Momentum is everything

Not yet fitted any gaiters yet @Brockett. can't really be arsed with having to take the forks off to fit them especially as I made the (not so) wise choice of opting out of having a centre stand fitted when I bought the bike!

It'll get done.......at some point

To save removing the forks how about some Neoprene Velcro Fork Protectors, I'll be fitting a set to mine soon. These are too long for our bike but can be cut in half and shared with a friend ??? or kept as stock/spares.

Quick question for y'all

Any suggestions on how to support the front of the bike so I can remove the front wheel and the forks so I can fit fork gaiters?

On my old bandit I could set it on the centre stand and then with a chock of wood and jack positioned under the tubular frame below the radiator, I could lift the front end pretty safely.

Obviously the Vstrom's don't have the same type of frame as the old Bandit so any outside of the box thinking would be much appreciated

I used a front paddock stand, supported on bricks to get the right height, when rebuilding the forks on my Wee.

Heavy things in the top box?

I used a ratchet strap wrapped underneath my bike lift and a bar through the rear spindle to remove my front wheel.

Jack under the engine?
If it's in a garage can you support it on ratchet straps from above.

That was my chosen method, TLP. Only works with a big top box. The ratshit strap method is a good one too.
