wracked my brain...and knuckles trying to figure out how to fit my monokey plate to the Veek, without laying out £80 for an adapter plate

topped 80,000 miles (OK, did that about a month ago   :) )
...replaced my complete rear suspension and link bearings (OK, got the garage to do it, and bypass that effing lighting connector behind the radiator, yeah - that one - went for the 3rd [and last] time... and I'm sick of fixing it)
...and fitted a bypass relay for it - did that myself :)
...and rode around a bit, relishing the feel of a new spring (or summer...)

I'm now stripping the (split, knackered and leaking) cover off the seat and hand-stitching a new one... (hmmm - the word...mug springs to mind for some unknown reason...aah yes, I need some tea, that's it!)

RoSPA tutor duties today with a new associate who rode very well.
Best of both worlds, I get to ride my bike, continue to promote road safety (which I miss since retiring) and the fuel contribution means it doesn’t cost me anything!  :lala:

Went to the Haynes motor museum. Lots of signs relating to the Glastonbury festival, drop-off points etc, but no problems on the roads. Plenty of interesting cars, a good display of "British" scooters, including such beasts as the DMW Deemster and the Velocette Viceroy (both of which found favour with the constabulary!), a selection of speedway bikes of all ages, and a few interesting "general" bikes, such as this futuristic  DKW.

Went out with that lot before.
The lads on 125's were an accident waiting to happen and cocky with their ability.
The bigger bike riders weren't much better.  :crazy:
<snip>
Along with lots of wheelies on public roads.
<snip>
I won't be associated with them- they are quite quickly developing a reputation for reckless yobish behaviour.
'Yeah, young people today... No respect... Flogging's too good for 'em... Bring back hanging! Should be seen and not heard...

To be fair, SW Renegades has been successful at attracting a whole different segment of riders than the usual grey-haired old farts. In particular, the leadership goes out of its way to cater for learners on 125cc bikes.
There will be a few hot-headed among any group of young people. But it's not like the SW Renegades is a '1%er' or outlaw club!

I've ridden a few times with them and I haven't seen any wheelies on public roads or "accidents waiting to happen". In fact a couple of learners have genuinely impressed me. And if more experienced riders join in, we can provide a good example for the others.

2nd MOT for the Glee, passed. Checking the cert afterwards and realised I’ve done only 469 miles since the last years MOT!!

I’ve done over 1000 miles on my Brompton pushbike commuting, since April. Think I’m on the wrong forum!

Dee Dub,
yeah there were a few on the ride that were tidy riders, but I don't have the will to deal with more bull$*** in my life than I have to at work.

I'll happily ride with 125 riders, but not those who think they're Rossi with 0.01% ability.

I left the group a while back and have no intentions to join again.
I mainly ride alone and riding with them made me appreciate solo riding that much more.  lol

My group riding is mostly with this lot on here when they decide to invade the Green Green Grass.

Bike passed it's MOT today with no advisories  :lala:

I gave it a very quick check over on Tuesday (bulbs, tyres and brake pads) which were all OK. Get the bike out this morning and one of those tiny side-light bulbs in the headlight has gone and I have no spares  :dl_smiley_banghead: Quick run to Halfords where I have to remove the entire dash just to access the bulb. Whoever designed that needs a good  :violence-smack:

Oh, to my shame I only managed 6,000 miles last year, but the Dunlop Roadsmart 3s have around 11,000 miles on them and still have plenty of tread on them - the rear is a bit square but still rides well  :auto-dirtbike:

Rode the bike home, (from home), and was surprised to find it was a touch over 100 miles. Good job I had put all the kit on for this. Two gallons of dinosaur goo wasted enjoyed.

Picked up my new to me 2015 Desert Vstrom 1000 and loving it. Unfortunately the dealer didn’t have the owners manual and stupidly I didn’t ask how to reset the trip/average mileage etc. Would any of the group be willing to tell me on here or post screenshot of the relevant page

Went down to Compton Abbas Airfield on an invite to join the Biffa crew (small group wot work for the Biffa Bin company) for a day drinking tea, talking shite and watching the planes take off - we also raised £400 for the local air ambulance services with a raffle for some nice goodies (didn't win much, but it was fun)

The airfield had a Tiger Moth done up in RAF Training yellow with all the roundels on etc, doing bumps and circuits for a couple of hours, some mad microlites trying to keep steady in a gusting wind and a red-arrows flyby as well.

Gorgeous weather and a view to die for - and a stop at Loomies on the A32/272 for a cuppa on the way home.  Good day out :)

MOT today, passed with one advisory rear wheel bearings has slight play, so I'll be looking to sort them out soon.

Refused to pay 265 quid for a Suzuki centre stand so ordered a Heed one from Poland for 135, it arrived in less than a week and fits perfectly. I have bought crash bars in the past from them for an Africa Twin and when funds allow I'll be getting them for this bike too.
