You know the answer Paul, TL Towers awaits you... :thumb:

Awaiting the imminent move, which will hopefully be in the next 2 weeks. Is the paint now dry?

Yesterday I took my Enhanced Rider Scheme test on my V strom in readiness to become a Blood Biker in Powys , a really good run down to Llandovery and back via Brecon. Two bikes, one instructor and we both passed  :lala:

What bulb is that?
I used Z-Datt H7 and H9. They are great and still working well. I can't understand from your photos if there was external driver for your LED bulb. On mine, there is external driver that I had to keep outside the housing as it wouldn't fit and also it gets very hot. So, had to cut a little slot on the side of dust cap for the cable, that I then covered with malleable sealer.

NO an external control unit and no fan to dissipate the heat. All this enters between a light dish and an external plastic, this lamp is designed just for small headlights. No useless encumbrance.

Had time over the last week to do a bit more work swing arm cleaned and two coats of etching primer, two coats of mat black paint and two coats of clear lacquer, Rear shock absorber had the same. Got most of the bike back together but the head lights low and high beam not working so I need to have a look at that tomorrow.

Added Heed Bars, Shad Luggage and Cree U5 lights with mod. Also a nice sounding Delcevic exhaust.

Had a good run out, 240 miles round trip from Mid Norfolk out to Cambs for the B660 then across to the GeorgeIV PH on the old road at Baldock. May be Greene King chain but good food and excellent service.
Was very wet to start and quite breezy all day but a good day looping back around this afternoon via Saffron Walden, Haverhill and Bury to Thetford. Was supposed to be 27 bikes but only 14 turned out in the end, the day proved gloomy forecasts aren’t always right.

Had rear caliper off for a clean, loads of crap round piston and seal - all better now.
If it has two wheels.. I'll ride it.

Nice little ride around some back roads before starting an oil and filter change. Also need to remove the instrument cluster as the Speedo keeps steaming up so I can't tell how fast I'm going...  :dl_hyperhysteria:

(Would that be a reasonable excuse Holmsey?  lol)

Here's a picture of the oil that came out of the bike  :-x  (first pic has the flash on so it looks worse than it is. It doesn't look as bad in the second picture). I think it was last changed in April 18 or about 7,000 miles ago.

Just got in from putting the new oil filter on and filling it up with around 2.7L of very pale Smith and Allen motorcycle oil (as recommended on here). Manual says to add 2.75L of oil, but put slightly less in to allow small top up if needed rather than having to remove excess. I'll start it tomorrow and check for leaks when it's not raining.

Two things I learned today, first, if you drain the oil with the bike on the centre stand, you inevitable miss your oil pan when you pop it on the side stand to get the dregs of oil out, turning the garage floor a shade of dark oil

Second, exhaust clamps don't last longer than 45,209 miles... or at least mine hasn't as it's snapped. Now on my to do list once I find the right size. I wonder if I tell the missus this means I need a new exhaust she'd believe me? lol

Got round to changing the brake and clutch fluid before Big Bird goes back on the road - didn't bother doing either before the winter as the bike wasn't going to be used  :thumb:

Also knocked up some top box plate support arms as I'm fed up of the whole mount and box wobbling. Only a road test will tell if they are effective, but from my efforts at moving the plate with and without the arms fitted, I'd say they are up too the job  :lala:

Finally got the bike back together... Now with a few custom bits. Some cosmetic and some helpful, like an extra clamp to stop the minor crash bar vibes.
