Took it for a twenty minute ride, then greased the chain and a few other bits of maintenance. This road salt doesn't half take its toll  :icon_no:

Rotated the front wheel to help prevent a flat spot, as the big girl enjoys a winter holiday  :lala:

Replaced the longer of the two oil lines that go to the oil cooler. A couple of days ago I noticed a few drops of oil on the ground where I park at work and on closer examination I could see that the pipe had corroded and become porous.

It's right in the line of fire from all the spray off the front wheel so it's no surprise. Changed oil and filter too as they were almost due anyway.

Called in for breakfast at Daly Waters cafe in Northern Territories, Australia. On display in cafe is the VC won by a local hero and close to nearby abandoned airbase that was used in 1926 London-Sydney air race.

Started to take some bits off to sort some rust out on the rear frame under the seat.

I agree that 2:14 counts as early morning :)

That's a monster mileage in my world. I've done 27000 from new in 14 years lol

@Graham62, how does your lad do burnouts with the front tyre of his bike?!

Not doing bad.
I think that beats Juv on mile per month.

But you've got a little way to go to get near his 116k on a K5 650cc In iirc 4 years (20k from previous owner)

I managed 60k (4k from 3 previous owners k6 650cc) in a little over 4 years, so you will beat me hands down in the not too distant future.

Makes my 30k in 4 years on the Varadero seem pathetic.

That is quite some mileage in just over 18 months.

Surely the majority must be commuting mileage.I have done 24k.miles of leisure mileage in almost exactly 4 years and I thought I had done well.

Rolled through 50k miles yesterday, kind of means I am going to have to keep it and see how far I can get with it.
Bought it 3 years ago with 20K and 5 previous owners, (its a 2007 650) they obviously just were not trying hard enough   :smirk:

Three hours to get my Glee clean after a 360 mile trip in heavy rain and spray last week. Never seen it so dirty, the road muck had got in everywhere but a snow foam rinse and then hand wash finally got it clean again.  :lala:

Managed to do a bit more on the rear end strip down, made a tool to take the swing arm shaft lock nut off, took off the rear shock, swing arm and the exhaust. The bearings all look fine with still a small amount of grease , the swing arm needs some work doing on it and the spring on the shock is showing signs of rust. So more work for me then. :fix:
