Muddy 'ell.

Very considerate of the road to slow down to half speed for you at the critical moment.

Just been out on a short ride myself (10% of last years mileage done inside 2% of the year - I must be cured).

Went over some mud myself and your video popped into my head. Thankfully I didn't wobble too much.

Real time video so you can see how quickly it can happen.

Did the seat cover look like this when you parked up?

I bet the road was even more brown than before  :haha: good save.

Is this bike invisible? The lady who tried to drive through me yesterday instead of waiting at the give way chicane obviously thought so. Good test of my emergency stopping skills to avoid a head on squish. (The bit I don't get is she stopped and waited for me to get near then with about 30 metres to go just decided to pull out onto my side of the road  ###)

@Fat Rat
No braking just rolled off the throttle and hoped for the best  :thumb:
If you look at the dirty section you can see some one has already slipped in the mud

Gentle (138 miles) South Wales run yesterday... Abergavenny, lunch at Cwm Du Tearoom, Brecon, Dead Sheep Mountain, Neath, Bridgend and back to Cardiff. I'm learning not to trust the sat-nav, though: took me onto a sideroad near Cowbridge which, after the first 50 yards, was covered in 3-4 inches of mud for the remaining 1/2 mile. Managed to stay upright, but a few clenchy moments (!) ..... I like the Bridgestone A41s, but they're pathetic on mud  :icon_no:

Changed the oil and filter and refitted the old magnetic pickups from a defunked hard drive on the filter, so any swarf is captured.
Also got a new air filter, will fit it when the weather warms up as it's a bit of a faf getting to it what with all those panels to remove.
I have a 2009 DL650.

Oil and filter change and MoT done, passed with no advisories which isn't bad considering that the bike has nearly 50k miles on it now and I don't really treat it like a show pony.

Just got my bike at a bargain price so had to replace a mis-matched mirror, missing handguard and cracked screen mount. All nice & easy :) Although, I've just noticed a leak on the oil cooler pipe so there's something else to do at the weekend!

Went for a short ride. Weather wasn't great, too windy, roads looked slippy even if they weren't.

Checked chain adjustment once I got home and lubricated the chain.

Only a short wet ride yesterday to the first of four training sessions to try and qualify as a tutor for Norfolk RoSPA Advanced Riders. Fingers crossed all goes well.

Spent most of this morning removing corrosion from my 1 yr old 99% dry used Bike - ACF'd religiously... Grrrrr .

EXUP Nuts and cable guides - polished up OK - little white granules of corrosion on surface
Rear caliper bolts, abs sensor bolt, abs ring (again).  Ditto.
Rear Brake line crimp's + banjos - improved but not perfect.
Rear Brake push-rod - corroded on rear side - came up nice.

Also noticed corrosion on rear sprocket face and fastenings - for another day.

I have to spend the rest of the day investigating why my SV is pulling slightly to the left  :fix:

If it has two wheels.. I'll ride it.

Went for a ride which was cut short as it was so cold. Thermal Gloves, Winter Gloves and Heated Grips too.

Better to be using it than not though, so pleased I went out.

Fitted a Pyramid mudguard extender to my Glee, and lubricated the chain.
The front mudguard was difficult to get off with the two standard shaped allen bolts spinning the captive nut thing! Had to grip the nut/plate with some long nose Vice grips.
