Started the winter strip down and maint. session this week - at the rear as usual

Rear wheel out, bearings checked and re-greased.

Rear brake cleaned & inspected (fluid th be changed in the spring).

Swing arm off (thanks Mr Porter for the use of your tools  :thumb:), all bearings checked and re-lubed.

Popped the rear subframe off whilst I was tooled up and in the mood, and gave it a paint job.

After the rear is back together its onto the front end  :lala:

That subframe looks much better in black  :thumb:

Yesterday I went on Ride of Remembrance from Squires cafe. Was a good turn out, and spotted an orange Wee, a ginger Glee (with forum stickers) & a grey 2018 Veek. Good run out, with some pics below.

looking good Steve. Making me think about painting mine now! Take your time with the tools, no rush, I did my bearings last winter.

Fitted new chain and sprockets, it was a bit of a mess around the front sprocket so I gave it a bit of a clean. Didn't refit the rear hugger so fitted the chain guard with a bit of a mod. :fix:

Looking good now Graham, I think you've had your moneys worth out of the old ones looking at the front sprocket teeth.  :thumb:

I know the front was bad but the rear has not got much wear on it. :thumb:

We had a run around Mid-Wales. Unfortunately the Llyn Brianne road was closed (forestry activities!) but we found a few other roads. Lots of gravel, and slimy wet leaves, so a bit twitchier than I'd like, but fun nevertheless.

love those pictures "h". They show why no one organises a rideout  in Essex.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

My bike is in pieces all over the garage, busy servicing, painting and replacing parts ready for spring. I know it's a long way away but I can't be bothered dressing like Michelin man through winter so the bike is retired for now... only 4 months to go

Added the Cymarc rear wheel sprocket shim (works a treat). Added the v-strom specific Barkbuster handguards (Storm), a lot of money for a small improvement, but its done.
In my defence, she did leave me unsupervised.

Took my 2018 650 in for safety recall work to be carrried out.  Took about an hour.  If you have to take yours in, try and ensure there isn't much fuel in the tank, makes the mechanic's work a lot easier.

Early afternoon run to CMC Clay Cross (Chesterfield) with a mate.
Just browsed some gear, kicked a few tyres and a cheeseburger and a brew.
Grey day but dry and mild.

Short 3 hour trip out today. Nice and sunny but getting on the cooler side now. Might give it a good clean and ACF50 this week ready for hibernation!  :)
