Careful with money sounds better. :)
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Quick run up to Derbyshire today for a late breakfast at The Yonderman.
Been noticing a while now that the gear box felt a bit 'notchy', not as smooth as normal, changed the oil a few hundred miles back but no difference. Today, I had trouble getting neutral from 1st or 2nd so called into my local 'bike garage & after 10 minutes playing with the clutch cable adjustments all seems OK. No charge but I left a fiver for the tea club. He did advise to get a new clutch cable fitted as well.  :thumb:

What's the mileage on that Mick? I had to adjust mine recently and am wondering if it needs a replacement soon (c.43k)

I've started to strip the engine bars as there was a few spots of corrosion but a light rub with sandpaper and the paint just peeled off. Was going to spray them but think I'll just get them sand blastered and powder coated. Had one quote for £30+VAT for just powder coating, or £60 + VAT for the lot...

I've got 32,000 on it. It's never been adjusted before unless it was done at one of the early dealer services, before 8/10,000. He was happy thinking the clutch was good for a lot more mileage but recomends a new cable at 30+k.....just to make sure.

It cost me £50 (inc vat) to get my engine bars sand/bead blasted & powder coated last winter.

Cheers - I'll keep shopping around & will think about doing the clutch cable this winter. I hadn't thought mine had been adjusted much, but the adjuster near the lever is quite far out when I checked it (the handguards keep it hidden)

I presume at that price it wasn't a genuine one Ian? My man told me to put a genuine one on as the aftermarket ones aren't up to it.

Yesterday.
Left Home about 10.15am heading for Aberystwyth. After a big breakfast at Wetherspoons I decided as it was a beautiful day I would head north. Machynlleth to Dolgellau on the A487 then A470 towards Snowdonia national park and A4212 towards Bala Lake. These roads should be on everyones to ride list, absolutely stunning and hardly any traffic. The pictures are of the bike at Bala Lake where I stopped for a cup of tea. Arrived back home at 4.45pm, great day out. Can't believe this weather. See it doesn't always rain in Wales only over Bank Holiday camping weekends. lol

I had a run out on the strom today, ice cream on the beach at mersea island, wait for the tide to drop off the causeway, then home, somewhere sometime I must replace the rear shock, its undersprung and underdamped for two up riding.

Don't know what an OEM one costs yet but for 4+ years & 32K a few quid more might be worth it???  :icon_wink:

Had a short ride out today and had two cars pull out on me when turning right on two separate roundabouts. Both drivers looked straight at me turning right and just went anyway  :icon_no:  Apart from that it was a nice run out.

Try 4 times the cost Mick. Its worth a punt as it’s so easy to change.Yours is a different cable.I had a look for one to fit a mates bike which is the same as yours but can only find S/H ones.I can’t even see them on Robinson’s parts list.

My original clutch cable was still fine at 60k...
Saying that the Varadero's clutch cable snapped at 34k

Today I fitted a new Delkavic exhaust and I am chuffed with it.
Now to test it with a ride to Cadwell Park and the Wolds.  :thumb:

Just taxed it for another year, managed to get it at a bargain price of £88.00 to ride on the poor excuse's for what passes as roads. So pleased that the owners of Nissan Qashqai's pay nothing to go on the road.
