stripped it down ready to fit the new R/R and fit the pipes to the throttle body's so I can sync them.

Thought it looked a bit dirty so I'll give it a clean.

New tyres fitted at ThunderRoad Bridgend today .... Bridgestone Battlax A41s.
Had the A40s previously and very happy with them (the initial harsh ride settled after a while, and I got 6000+ miles from them, but they started to square off and follow "tramlines" recently, so time for a change). According to Bridgestone the A41s are better than the A40s ....... we'll see

Fine on the (rather gentle) ride home ... no "moments", no complaints about the ride quality.

to be honest I wouldn't even bother syncing the throttle bodies. Unless there in an issue don't.

My wee had it's first sync at 50k. Barely moved a screw. Wasn't worth the hassle.
Generally these engines and throttle bodies need very little adjustment.
It's tinkering for tinkering sake.

Oil & filter changed and eventually got round to changing the Air filter and the dreaded fuel tank removal. Took the quick option without removing the side panels & with a 2nd person helping and a bit of wriggling it came off without to much of an issue. The filter was quite dirty with 1 or 2 bugs attached but was expecting worse for 27000 mile. Inspected both spark plugs on the rear cylinder as Tank was removed decided against putting new ones in as plugs looked in great condition and had a nice tan colour & bike is running perfectly maybe change them on next filter change.

@ Mr Diver the bike is hard to hold steady at low revs, I've got the vacuum gauges now and it's stripped down to get at the R/R connections so if I set the TBs and it's still the same then I will look at the TPS.

It's quite mild but I do have a gas heater in there if I need it.

I've never needed to heat gas but each to their own I suppose.

Graham,from experience do the TPS first,I thought the same as you when my Wee started playing up at low throttle openings.I set mine a low as possible and it transformed the bike,the throttle balance was only a whisker out.Good luck with the TPS,it needs a great deal of patience as you only have to breath on the adjustment and it goes all over the place.I set mine as low as possible,from memory 1700rpm was as low as I could get it.Not sure what the factory setting is,someone will come back and tell me no doubt.

Not today but Friday took the front calipers off stripped them down, cleaned and I decided to give them a coat of paint and fitted the new R/R.

Remved the newly fitted (250 miles ago) SBS street exel front brake pads. Stopping power was OK but they groan like crazy in the last ten feet before you come to a stop. Should have got the oe pads but these where half the price, now I know why!!

I've always used sbs for my bikes, never had any issues and found them better than most OE supplied pads, did/have you clean your discs? when you fitted them.
