Went to East Kirkby museum yesterday,190mls.in total.I am gobsmacked at the change in the bike since I reset the TPS and balanced the throttle bodies. The balance was so far out it must have been like it from new.Really worth it.About an hours work.

Well done you. So much pleasure can be had from some effective maintenance. On the other hand, also having a K9, my mechanical paranoia has now gone up a notch or two as I worry that I too need to check this.
Did you get all the information from the workshop / service manual ?

Just sorted the side stand as the bike has been leaning over too far for my liking.
The stand is pulled in by the spring when deployed (so looks fine) but once you rest the bike on it the stand would slide outwards a little resulting in the bike leaning over too much.

Simple fix.
Stand off and in the vice to close it up a little.
Make up a washer to go behind the stand axle bolt (thin button washer with centre hole drilled & filled out to suit).
Greased it all and bolted it back together.

It's now solid, when deployed it touches the ground and stays where it is, no more sliding outwards.
..and more importantly I'm happy with it.

Just fitted the third set of front discs to my K5 (100,000 km) today after the original discs and a cheap set of Chinese wave discs both warped and set up unacceptable brake shudder. I am using GSXR 750 calipers with Vstromracing adapter brackets.
Strangely, the original discs only had 6 thou and 4 thou runout as measured by my magnetic dial gauge with the manual prescribing 12 thou as the maximum runout. However, they shuddered quite badly with the measured runout.
A new set of discs from metalgear.com.au has restored smooth braking and I hope they stay that way for many years to come.

Since changing my tyres a couple of weeks ago to Dunlop Roadsmart 3s, I've noticed a handlebar wobble from about 40mph and above. Yesterday this was more noticeable on a ride to Sheffield and back yesterday c.70mph for an hour at a time.

Today I checked the front end thinking maybe the forks rotated slightly. Loosened the axle, fork brace, lower two triple clamp bolts, then re-tightened starting at the bottom and doing the fork brace last. What I discovered is the front axle leaves a small millimetre gap between the fork leg and the spacer on the clutch side. (Pic below).

Doesn't seem to matter how much I tighten the axle the gap won't close, but I can press the fork in at the bottom to close the gap. Thinking I need to loosen the axle off again, maybe remove the fork brace then re-tighten.

Oh, I also noticed on my way home from work the clocks read 34,000 miles before I set off  :thumb:

I would suggest you revisit the sequence and way you have tightened the front wheel up, you shouldn't be tightening all the bottom bolts up in the way you have as you may be pulling it out of alignment.

although this is a dirt bike, the vid will allow you to understand what the process is.

Fitted a Givi monokey universal plate to the existing rack, not much room to work and well fiddly.

I fitted a couple of items I bought from Pezzer yesterday - MRA screen and a cut down seat.
Here's some piccies.

MRA Screen

Custom Seat

I did go for a quick spin, the seat felt weird but after 5 miles I started to get the hang of it. I can now get both feet on the floor properly when I pull up at junctions. I haven't found the best setting for the screen yet as it was too windy to tell what was going on.

Fitted a Givi monokey universal plate to the existing rack, not much room to work and well fiddly.

Yeah, it's a real pain to do and I've got that job to look forward to tomorrow when I take the Suzuki one off and fit the Givi box.

Not today, but on the way home on Saturday in the heavy Dew that we had I almost met Mr Richard (D*ck) Head.

Why don't these retards ever look, I guess he,or she were doing something very important like on the mobile texting, or taking a call, having a drink or sandwich, changing the CD, or the mp3 player, doing last minute paperwork doing their hair or nails, instead of looking out for other road users. :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead:

Ran out of petrol on the Edinburgh City Bypass  :violence-smack:

The last bar of the petrol guage didn't 'flash' like it did on my 13 plate Glee. Got down to one bar then before I know it I'm pushing the bloody thing along the hard shoulder.

Never been so knackered in my life  :old:

The only thing to do on "Go see Mum Tuesday, is to get the bike out and Go see Mum.
She has to come out and inspect the machine. Not bad for her 95th year.

:thumb:  Thumbs up for mums! Does yours have a "you will be careful on that, won't you" parting ritual? My 81 year old mum does, every time - and she used to ride pillion on  Brough Superior as a teenager, with no helmet!

:thumb: Definitely. My mum (at 93) doesn't know I have a bike! When I had a break from biking for a few years she kept telling me she could sleep at night again because she wasn't worrying about me "on those dangerous things". When I started up again 7/8 years ago I couldn't tell her, she doesn't sleep too well anyway. Besides I don't want a telling off.  lol
I got a right bollocking when I was in my fifties from her when she found out I'd got a tattoo!!  :icon_batterup:

Hello Brock,in my opinion, that's the best bodywork, frame and wheel colour combination that Suzuki has built. You can probably guess that mine is the same. :thumb:
