I finally got round to fitting my LED spotlights (which were on my Super Tenere) and Sat Nav bracket along with a switched 6 way auxiliary fusebox. Just need to my 'big horn' sorted next...

Passed its MOT  :lala: one advisory on the rear tyre though so after around 10,500 miles time to replace the PR4...  :shy: Front still has plenty of tread left and has worn better than the Anakee 3 front, but it's probably squared off a bit so will probably change that too.

Had to change the number plate light just before I went in as the bugger had blown after 5yrs and hadn't noticed it yesterday. What a pain that one is to change.

On a plus side, my mileage for the last year was a more respectable 8,315 up from 4,401 the year before but still not enough...  :auto-dirtbike:

Went for a test ride with the new mirrors, and they seem OK. The left mirror is ever so slightly warped/curved, not enough to affect vision, but enough that I noticed. The right one is perfect. Don't think I need extenders,  but we'll see.

As for buffering, there's still some there but then I am riding a motorcycle so it's never going to be completely smooth and silent. I managed 90mph on the motorway with my visor open so I think it's pretty good.

I like to be thorough...

Got some Heed crash bars expertly fitted by Rusty Nuts today, thanks Martyn!

Intended on heading up to the Dales, but the wife instead suggested we go visit her grandmother in Manchester... So we went over Woodhead pass in the pissing wet weather.

mounted my DIY satnav bracket, with diy satnav.

Before someone picks on welding quality. It's my first aluminium welding ever, with £50 Chinese welder.

Back from France, washed and waxed bike and changed oil and filter, thought I would try Castrol Power1 Racing instead of my usual Shell Advance Ultra. She's now all ready for another trip next month. Living in Kent it's quick and simple to get on the Continent and I have found I do not Tour in the UK anymore as the extortionate prices for B&B's/Hotels or campsites coupled with chronic congestion and the shit state of the roads just don't make it pleasurable anymore. Last week I was Touring around using the D roads in Northern France with the occasional RN thinking how wonderful it was to be 'free' of traffic with courteous drivers and friendly people.

Cosmo centre stand arrived yesterday for my 2017 DL650- fitted in the evening - very easy install bar the top bolt on the right (spring side) which is a bit fiddly due to access - need a decent rachet spanner for this. Quality looks to be great - so far and the bike goes on to stand really easily.

Picked mine up from the garage
A week to a 30k mile service and reshim the valves
Don't think I'll be going back
Now all I need yo do is fix the spongy front brakes
They said it needs a caliper rebuild

Couldn't agree with you more on that. I've just got back from Holland, Germany and Austria, you've hit the nail on the head. I too don't bother with the UK for the same reasons, but to be fair when we do get good weather ( I know, when !! ) The UK does have some fantastic scenery, but £50-£100 a night for a B&B, no thanks I'll stay in Austria or Germany for about £22+ a night including breakfast.

Ordered a new Motobatt battery for my K6 Vee. The current (if you pardon the pun) battery is holding it's voltage (briefly) but with little or no current, the classic signs of a calcified battery if I remember back to my college days... I've tried to 'recover' it on my smart charger but it's buggered. To be fair it looks like the original so it's way overdue retirement.

Whipped wheels off to put new rubber on and noticed not very smooth sprocket bearing. I'm sure last service invoice inhale new wheel bearings on it, this one has rubber seal missing and looks older than a year/5500 miles.

Knocked up a Sat twat holder, nothing on par with sasquatch's feat of major engineering, but hopefully it'll do the job.
Simply a piece of angle ally with a ram mount bolted to it, then drilled to span the screen stays and fixed using the screen bolts, a point to note is that the cross piece can catch the clocks when the screen is tilted back, therefore had to shape an arc out of the bottom edge to give clearance.
Not sure how rigid it'll be  but if it stays still and doesn't wobble I'll take it off and give it a sand down and a decent coat of paint.
