+1 on Paul's comment.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

must have been a really tight link , was it noisey??  I've seen chains go like that at enduro's but really most were lack of maintenance n neglect  , any scott oiler fitted ?? I've got 38500km on original chain n sprockets only because of the oiler , broken chain is very dangerous , crf's are notorious for it plus they bust the main casing where clutch pin fits rendering the engine as usless as an ashtray on a gsxr

On Friday I rode it up the West coast to Tongue (449 mls). On Saturday I rode it a slightly different route back home (375 mls). I now realise that the only way it's now possible for me to sit on a bike all day long is if it has 3 things. A Sargent seat, lowered foot pegs and a Givi Airflow, otherwise my glass arse and dodgy back can't cope any longer..... must be an age thing. Bike never missed a beat as usual.

I have previous fame for not looking after my chain but this time round I've had a mini PD oiler doing the work...

Wow! that did suffer.
If you didn't feel vibration as may be due to a seized link pin, I might wonder if a small stone didn't get trapped between the chain and sprocket and was crushed leaving almost no evidence other than the wrecked chain,
I also use a PD Mini oiler and have had to trim the wick to ensure oil is spread onto both sides of the links. At one inspection I found the wick had become worn to a point that was only wiping the outside edge leaving the inside dry. Sods law again as the inside is harder to see without a deliberate inspection.
You can buy spare/replacement wicks.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can. Nothing travels faster than the speed of time.

Finally fitted my loobman chain oiler, not had a chance to ride it yet but static testing looks OK  :thumb:

Still need to fit some more black clips but ran out

Fitted a Givi Airflow this afternoon (yes, with a gel-dome sticker Mr Rat). I still need to take it for a ride I haven't tested it yet.

I think you might need a flashing red light on the top of that Martin. To warn aircraft of a high structure. Or you could sell space to Orange or BT to put a 'phone mast up there.

Just sayin' lol

TLP - It won't be staying there. I was just checking the Garage Door wouldn't hit it and the cover would still go over it however high it was  :)

Mr Rat - That's a link over to a second light switch at the back. I will wire it up properly one day.

Replaced sprocket carrier bearing today. Old one wrecked (wondered what the squeaking noise was). Should have change all three bearings at the rear really but need bike for work, so as the others felt fine hoping to get away with it for now.

Got the recall done today at B&B Motorcycles in Lincoln. Brilliant bunch of blokes there. Only took just over an hour and a half. Can't fault them one bit  :thumb: :thumb:

Checked bike over today ready for long weekend in Ireland. . Staying outside cork and going to explore peninsulas. There's 19 bikes going, going to be mad. Drop off system will be deployed but I give it about 15 miles before we are scattered all over Ireland.
