Spent most of yesterday  :fix: putting the rear wheel back on.
I never removed the rear wheel on the first Wee or the Vee or the Glee. If I had, I would have known what a pig of a job it was going to be.  :dl_hyperhysteria:
After much swearing I resorted to:
Duck tape to hold the chain adjusters and brake bracket in place.
Remove the ABS sensor. With bike on centre stand .....
Pack under the front wheel to lower the swing arm to line up spindle holes.
This allows free hands to check and hold wheel spacers in place while fiddling the chain over the sprocket nuts and drive side spacer and I don't have to do too much lifting to line it all up.
So glad I carry a stop 'n' go puncture repair kit.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

Heated grips for me as always on the bike so if it gets chilly when I have summer gloves on then I can warm my hands.

Took the speedometer off & apart to clean the streaks off the inside of the glass left by condensation. Very odd that there's no rubber seal between the two parts of the clock housing to keep moisture out. Have put some silicone sealant around the joint to keep the moisture out. Just need to refit tomorrow then go for a ride.

Possibly if I'd seen this before refitting... clocks back on the bike today and seems to be working OK. Also cleaned the oil breather hose sponge again. Wasn't too manky but still gunked up given I last cleaned it in July.

Hoping to get out and clean the brakes soon...

In readiness for fitting Heated Grips and a Chain Oiler I knocked up a Relay controlled 'Fat Rat Fusebox'  :smirk: No, I won't be going for a hostile takeover of the Bigpie empire

Wrapped the exhaust today (that is all that can be seen from the silencer side) looks tidy, a bit smoky once warmed up, hopefully this will clear with heat/use lol.

Also fitted some carbon effect hand guards (mounted on clutch and brake levers)that I modded over the festive break, a bit different... :shy:

Fitted a PD Mini chain oiler. All wired into my new aux supply box.  Would not work. Checked fuses and found all were good, but then found out the new relay was duff so I had to change it. I found and connected an old one that lit up straight away.

Fitted Engine/ Crash Guards.

Still looking for Skid Plate.

Since there is lots of snow on the streets here in Grande Prairie, Alberta. And I won't be riding anytime soon. Also I won't be able to make the motorcycle show in Edmonton, I decided to install my heated grips and give the strom a good going over. Now I am ready for spring and as soon as I can go riding I can just pull it out of the garage!

With fantastic views that you have in Alberta, it'll be worth the wait. Just don't forget your camera for them stunning views of Canada. :thumb: :thumb:

Got out for a quick blast, :happydance: only 30 miles, it was a bit chilly on the hands and the side winds made it quite interesting but it was lovely to get out again especially at this time of year. Beautiful afternoon here in mid Wales.  :lala:

Class

There were about 3 threads running simultaneously on the subject at one point. Would've done his nut if it was anyone else!

As the weather was nice I got the cover off and fitted the new number plate. Then decided to go for a quick ride to test the new tank bag and the new BT800m intercom.

Happy to say the bike started straight away so at least I know the solar charger is working. Also quite happy with the intercom, decent sound until about 80mph then it gets a bit hard to hear. My ears do hurt a bit from the tight fit, but I realised it was more my ears than the speakers. Once I figured out a neck tube over my ears to keep them pinned back and I had no problems...

The bike is less than 2 years old (registered less than 2 years ago) and the paint on the DRL brackets had come off and the brackets themselves had rusted. Typical shoddy finish from Suzuki.

Took off the brackets using some elbow grease, cleaned them as much as I could with a wire brush followed with rotary brush head on a drill. Then stuck them into a home made electrolysis rig using a cheap battery charger from Lidl (£10) and an old file as the sacrificial anode.

Just an hour later the liquid was like a thick soup  :-x

Here's a 1 minute video. I'll check it in the morning to see how well it has been cleaned and will throw in the second bracket
