That's an old misconception. I remember learning glass was a super cooled liquid years ago but it's an amorphous solid according to today's science. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/fact-fiction-glass-liquid/

Anyway, remember to maintain your bikes or your brakes may break. Is the problem with homophones generation dependent? We were drilled on the differences when I was in school but it seems like that isn't happening any more.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

People no longer read. When they rite, vey put wot it souns like.  The "ITA" system of the late '60s to mid '70s encouraged primary pupils to write a word as it sounded and not worry about correct spellings, just to get them writing. Two contributory factors, I reckon.
Shame about the glass. Another myth, erm, shattered.

Needed to pick up some small bits from a town about 25 miles away so took advantage of the dry day to give my Glee a run out and avoid the seasonal traffic.
Got a bit carried away and ended up doing nearly 100 miles on some lovely Norfolk A and B roads that were completely dry. Good test of the new heated grips as well, 5' on temp gauge, winter gloves and grips on 50% made for a very comfortable trip.

Adjusted the chain slack back to the recommended 30mm - took half a turn to do (new chain in July and 2nd adjustment, been meaning to do it for about a month). Forgot how much difference a properly adjusted chain makes to gear changes.

Yesterday after driving through the rain, I washed and cleaned the bike thoroughly. First snow foam, then a good rinse followed by a good vehicle shampoo wash, rinse and dry. Bike came out gleaming (except the seat).

Today was supposed to be dry so I had planned to deliver my Christmas cards (now it is cheaper to deliver them all over the city than to post them, even second class post). Well, what did it do? Effing rain  :dl_soapbox:

Came back in and gave it a good rinse but no shampoo then dried it. It is as good as new and garaged until tomorrow when I shall go for a good ride when the streets are empty :xmas-smile:

Went to check my bike was still OK, and the number plate was smashed and on the floor... I'm hoping it was just the wind and no-one else trying to steal it. Everything else looked fine, cover still on, no damage, just the number plate cracked and fallen off

The strom seems to have found its way into the conservatory again... The plan is to replace the rusty fasteners, repaint the water pump housing and have the engine bars and other bits  powder coated. First job is the annual oil and filter change...

Sent using carrier pigeon...

Started fitting my heated seat pad that santa dropped off for Xmas.

I drilled the foam & base to run the cable out and do away with the bulky 5 way connector (for 3 wires).

Hit a snag when my electric Staple gun won't drive the staples in. I'll drop it into an auto trimmers for re stapling.

Watch this space.....

Quick ride around the block. Noticed my speedo has had condensation on the inside of the glass which has dried  leaving a streak. May have to see if I can disassemble and clean  :dl_smiley_banghead:

My speedo also suffers from the same problem...bottom right hand corner, especially in damp weather

New Year's blast around North Devon and a bit of Somerset. Felt pretty elephantine with 5 layers under my bike gear, but managed to stay nice & toasty! Rediscovered a great chippie by the harbour in Ilfracombe

Wired in my 3 way relay fuse block, each fuse supplying 2 wires giving 6 outputs to feed my headed grips (currently fed from horn circuit), heated jacket liner (currently direct to battery) and my new heated seat insert plus a couple of low power stuff like Sat Nav, power to top box etc.

These little jobs seem to take me ages as I try not to end up with a rats nest but invariably do!

The common -ve point in their pic is for all circuits to earth to leaving only 1 -ve wire to the battery and hooefully keep things tidier or at least a bit less cluttered!

Well as someone who hasn't a clue about electrics, it looks nice and tidy to me.  :thumb:
