Replaced chain & sprockets (trying JT brand chain this time) and noticed 1 strand had broke on clutch cable so can replace that before it lets me down. Also found out why rear pads wearing uneven, front sliding pin doesn't slide  :) steel pin corroded into ally body was a bu66er to get out as it's a blind hole, how to clean out blind hole was next until I remembered I still had a pistol cleaning kit from my shooting days, nice small round bristle brush cleaned it a treat.

The weather was so good today I thought I must make the best of it. :sunny: A trip around the peak district with a couple of old mates and my son on the back of my bike. Off to the derwent dams just in time to see a Lancaster flying down the valley. then a ride around to the edale for a coffee and something to eat. then over mam tor, then down winnats pass to Castleton.  Then on to hathersage, Calver, Baslow, over Baslow hill back to Sheffield. about 60 miles in total.
feeding the ducks at derwent.
top of mam tor.

That's what happens when you have a beak on the front of your bike!

I also had a brief tour around the peak district this evening. Tried out the new heated grips, and they were toasty! Ambient temperature was 11°C and parts of me were chilly in a summer jacket but my palms were sweaty, and that was in the lowest setting.

Only thing that bugged me slightly is the green light telling you the setting. It's on the edge of my vision and as it goes in and out I keep thinking I've left the indicator on!

Replaced front brake pads, changed oil & filter then took it for new tyres (BT-023's) and MOT, which it passed  :)

650XT Pete, that looks like Fairholmes car park - full of ducks.  I had a great trip to the Peak District in July and after stopping at Fairholmes, rode Snake Pass in beautiful sunshine.  Fabulous biking area.

Replaced SW-Motech halogens with LED bulbs and like it that way. Also position/parking lights changed to LEDs

Kevinc,  yep  that's correct, been there that many times the ducks always expect food from me. Hoping to put a run on around the peak district next spring for those interested.

Tried new tyres on fitters recommended pressures of 36F & 42R, it was terrifying!, like riding on ice so reduced back to factory pressures 33F & 36R, much happier now  :)

Can't remember, they were in a big bucket o' bits at the back of the shed.
....Just had a look on Alchemy, can't see them. Black alloy threaded body with a backnut, and a groove round the bezel.
