That's what I thought Wurzel and with Mr Diver saying that we might do a bit of off road at the West Wales weekend with some puddles I thought time to do it now.  :fix:  :thumb:

The puddles I mentioned would not be suitable for a V-Strom. Lets just say my old boy was well and truly under water walking through them.
I doubt a V-Strom would even be capable of getting to them.
But waterproofing the bike is a good idea if you're coming to Wales anyway.

Today I have taken off the side stand and built up the lug stop with weld to stop it hitting the exhaust and denting it when stand is up. I noticed it when I bought the bike but did not expect perfection with a 2003 bike that's covered 47k. Next challenge is to remove the rear part of exhaust system to repair the bad dent. It looks like it could be a nightmare to remove......

Noticed my rear LEDs that I installed on Sunday no longer work - only rode it today   for a 7 mile commute... :bawl:

I know it's not my dodgy soldering as the previous set did the same thing, and plugging the old one directly to a battery (without my soldering) shows it's dead. Must be cheap Chinese manufacturing as the front set is fine. Might pop them open and see what's going on inside...

Loads of stuff to do in the garden but pursuaded SHMBO that it was a bad idea as the sun was out and I might get sunstroke or similar!!! So we got on the bike and had a ride out. Did 150 miles and collected a few photos for the dodgy place name game. Try and get them on tomorrow.

Fitted National Cycle VSteam Touring windscreen to 2014 V-strom 1000.  Test ride tomorrow but very impressed by fit, finish, aesthetics and ease of fitment.  Need mirror extenders for when at position nearest rider.

I received my seat back from Tony Archer. £90 includes the reshaping (I asked for the seat to be two inches higher) and a new cover. It also includes next day Courier, so if you are local and can collect it will be cheaper still. Combined with the Footpeg lowering kit, this makes the V-Strom perfectly comfortable for me  :thumb:
