14500 mile service: changing oil, filter, spark plugs and coolant was easy. I was impressed with how easily the fairing and fuel tank came off. No issues.. And then it's the simple little things that give grief.
The front fairing went back on quite easily but the two bolts which hold the frame of the fairing to the bikes frame were a pain - one screwed in easily enough but the other did not want to go in at all. I didn't want to persist and cross thread it so I'm leaving it till tomorrow and having another go with a fresh head.
Relaxing now with a Llandegla Triple D cider which I bought at the Llangollen bike fest a couple of weeks back  :obscene-drinkingchug:

And I quite fancy one of these! No bloody fairings to remove at service time...

Oh and one more thing - the old coolant that I drained out was blue, which I think signifies the Suzuki Super Long Life Coolant. According to the manual it's good for 4 years or 29000 miles. So I needn't have bothered changing it...
If you have a Glee don't bother with the coolant change at 2years/14500 miles..

New chain and sprockets,DID and JT.New rear tyre,Tourance Next, last tyre was a Battlewing, and has only done 6,500 Mls. with 1 MM. left to the wear bars.Going to France in a few weeks and it would not have lasted the trip.Fitted Loobman chain oiler last week.We will see how it goes, working well so far.It was worth a punt for £22 including postage.
BTW chain had only done 14,000 Mls.I have only had it since 7,500 mls.so don't know how previous owner treated it.It was the front sprocket that was the worst worn and was the reason to change the set.

That's poor life out of the tyres and the C&S kit!
My chain is on 14500 miles and I'm hoping for at least another 3000 miles. I lube my chain loads and clean it with gt85 every 3 months or so.
Good effort with the tyres though! Battlewings are long lasting in my experience so I reckon you must really know how to ride the bike!!

Half cooked going up the A1 in 33c heat. My mesh gear did nothing and the 'wind chill' was like a heat gun was being aimed at me. Roll on cooler weather.

Also noticed one of my Kirky lights has gone out. Looks like I'll have to make a replacement. My LED sidelights in the headlamps have also gone out too  :bawl:
My kirky lights died a while back... shame really, they looked good but just don't last.

Found some LED replacements that have already outlasted the kirky ones so fingers crossed...

Fitted the givi airflow, that's nicer, but headlight illuminates the lower part, so I may have to make a headlight beak, two beaks on one bike....oh the shame and ridicule...

Took the bike out for a steady 15mile run out to scrub in the new rear Tourance.Very different to the old Battlewing, falls into corners much easier than before.Feels a little harsh at the moment until run in.Noticed that it has a deep tread in the centre, measured it at 9mm.I reckon the tyre diameter is a fair bit more than the old tyre when that was new.The whole bike feels higher at the rear, that's perhaps why it turns in easier. The bonus is ,it's MUCH easier to get on the centre stand,so that's a plus, as it was getting to be a bit of a struggle.Gave it a wash as well. Its about ready for France in a few weeks.

Adjusted & cleaned the chain, next service I think il put new one one with sprockets. Topped up oil, scottoiler, tyre pressures and all that jazz. I suppose I best take it for a blast later make sure I haven't fudged anything up.  :sunny:

Hopefully it will just be a wash closer to the time and its ready for fat rats Wales trip  :)

Adjusted the chain slack back to c.25mm. Either the chain has stretched quite a bit since the new one was put on, or the mech set the slack too loose.

Feels a little harsh at the moment until run in.
Keep us up to date re the harshness.
I noticed increased harshness immediately after fitting the A40s, which hasn't improved with use.

Fitted the Cymarc footpeg lowering kit and a USB charging point for mobile.

Went for a ride around Northumberland with some chums, came home after 200 odd miles with virtually no scaticia pains - RESULT!

Also found the new limit for ground clearance, hero blob (the bolt screwed onto the underneath of the footrests) on left hand side grounds fairly easily, I have the Suzuki centre-stand fitted so this is the longer type bolt - I wonder how much farther I would have to go before I touched down the centre-stand?

Yesterday I took a look at the electric connections behind the radiator, all looked pretty good no corrosion but still sprayed them with afc 50 then covered them with bicycle inner tube. some before and after photos.
