That cargo box needs a clean out, Sally forgot about a haggis she bought in Scotland a few weeks back, I dare not open the box now for fear of getting assailed by it.

I think she decided not to eat it when she read the ingredients...lambs lobes...I kid you not!

Mind you, whilst burbling round the west coast, she spotted something  going on in a field we were coasting by, over the intercom I got ' there's a farmer in that field with hairy bullocks'.

After a neck wrenching involuntary sideways gawp, I corrected her, telling her,
'They are Aberdeen Angus cattle'.

Her swift response was that ' no, they are Moris pipers!'

I got the silent treatment after informing her that they were potatoes!

What can one do for a peaceful life... :angry-banghead:

DAY TWO of commuting into London from Cambridge and I must admit I had forgotten the sheer joy of riding.   For me it can be very logical, even clinical but then I hit the zone and something catches my attention and there it is ..... the thrill of riding.... of being on the bike..... be it weaving in and out of traffic around the West End or pooling along a twisty rural B road.....

Lovin it

Finally rode to work as we have blue sky all day today, going to take the scenic route home and enjoy some of North Wales twisty roads :lala:
Oh yes and last night fitted tin foil behind each indicator lamp, the result is blinding, only did this after reading a post on here.

Knocked up a exhaust valve cover. Since first clapping eyes on the latest 1k Strom, I've always considered the valve to be rather exposed, so came up with an alloy box type cover for it that covers most of the gubbins from top to bottom and a bit underneath as well.

Fitted Denali PowerHub2 to V-strom 1000 ABS and wired up heated grips and satnav to switched fuses. :)

My new mirrors arrived today so have been out with a torch fitting them, a spanner too as the torch wasn't that handy!

Rode up to Ullapool . . . . . the long way  :lala:, before the weather turned to poo  :shy:

If I hadn't used 50 miles worth of fuel before setting off, I reckon I'd have got round the 245 miles on less than a tank - 63mpg when fueled at Ullapool  :happydance:

Well, After this debacle, I finally got around to fitting new Pads, Braided lines and bled the whole lot. The difference is night and day. I have brakes  :lala:

As I went for the two line setup (two from the Master Cylinder), I needed some retaining method for the right side. Just for info, the bracket on the left side (which Suzuki sell clearly marked -L), fits the other side too, and it's only £9.

Rode it on a sunny day, for a whole 30 miles. Work is really getting in the way this year.  :bawl:

I've now done 400 miles in 2016 when I did 540 on one day in 2015.

New Job (or different contract anyway) from mid-October, so it should get better  :)

120 miles around Norfolk and Suffolk with Mrs mrp. Very hot and very busy but still enjoyable.
Highlight a lovely cold lime and soda in the pub at Walberswick with live blues outside.
Lowlight arriving at the new Route 11 biker's cafe at 4.40 not realising they shut the kitchen before their 5.00 closing.
Will know for next time, the stale sandwich from the adjacent garage was pants....

Mrp192, you should've had fish & chips whilst out at Walberswick - (or Dunwich or Southwold). All serve really good, fresh fish. Quite often pop out there myself for an excellent lunch.
Never heard of the Route 11 bikers cafe. Had to google that one. Seems an odd place to have a bikers cafe as the A11 is a crap road to ride on!! Still I may have to pop over (via the back roads) & check it out.

Cut down and fitted a super short MRA screen. Just left enough height to cover up the messy bit behind the street screen.  I tried it on the highest setting first, only sticking up a couple of inches and still had some buffeting.  Set on the lowest setting and it seems OK now.  I'll create a post and upload pictures later in the week.  :-)

Sam. It was the first time we had been to that part of the coast and was surprised how busy it was. The pub was the only option for parking and the live music outside was a plus.
The Route 11 cafe seemed like a nice place and has an attached bike clothing shop but was annoyed by no food being available.
Easy to find, join the Norwich bound carriageway A11 at Attleborough and on the same site as the Shell forecourt after about a mile.
