Mounted and wired in my new Cree U5 lights. I removed the U2 chip to stop the lights rotating through the different lighting modes. Then modified the attaching bracket so that it was turned through 90o so that I could mount them below the crash bars (Suzuki mk2). Finally wired it in to a Bigpie Aux fusebox. Just need to adjust the angle now so to gain maximum brightness without blinding on coming traffic?

Looking good Dinger. Shame about the oil leak under the GS on the right.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Tarted it up, Put a rough coat of paint on the pannier racks and bits and bobs affected by rust from the winter salt and a hard life in the snow! time to get it cleaned for the few days of summer that are going to be here soon!  :sunny:

Got my camera mounted on the crash bars (seems to handle the vibration fine as long as I don't want any sound recording..)
About to sort out a few little bits on the handlebars.
Heated grips are sticking...need to sort those out today too. tried the obvious bar ends too tight etc etc. will have to take them off and have a poke around.

This was actually yesterday. Followed a route I used to trail ride 30 years ago from Risca in South Wales , over Machen mountain and along Sirhowy valley until Pontllanfraith.
This was the most challenging ridding I have attempted on the V-Strom since I bought it last October.
It has now got me thinking of entering the Touratech rally in a couple of weeks!
Beginning to think I need a sump guard.

Yesterday, went out for a little blast. A friend of mine seems to know all the small single track roads in Wales, he took us over the hills to Llandovery, 1 hour 50 mins  :icon_exclaim: if you go the main road way it should take about 40 mins from me. Anyway, breakfast in the cafe in Llandovery, then down to Thunderroad at Cwmbran, he had some knuckle guards to pick up for his Honda. Quick coffee and then back home via Brecon. Nearly 200 miles in total. Really enjoying the bike now I got a few more revs to play with, I've done 900 miles now, it corners really well and has plenty of go for overtaking. Still averaging 66mpg  :lala:

Changed orange indicator lenses for clear, changed OEM screen to Suzuki short screen. Went for a ride.

Out on the bike since the first time since beginning of March  :auto-dirtbike: :auto-dirtbike:
Boring ride over to Manchester over the M62, but nice return ride via Woodhead pass - shame there were so many lorries though.
Did notice on my way across to Manchester a woman putting makeup on whilst driving in Oldham (she nearly went into the back of me at one point but swerved into the next lane), one fella texting on the motorway in the outside lane drifting into the middle lane, but the worst was the prat on Woodhead Pass who overtook about 10 vehicles including lorries on double-white lines on the approach to a blind bend before forcing his way back into traffic
Reminds me that I need to fix my horns - which are currently a wimpy beep instead of 112db, and sort my mobius camera out.

A great ride of over 200mile, up through the Brecon Becons, then to Builth Wells via B4520 up to the Elan Valley taking the mountian road to Devil's bridge. A quick stop there, then on to the B4343 to Lampeter and finally back home, great weather and quiet roads, I love this bike more and more.

Went out for a short bimble through the local lanes to get a photo for the 'dodgy place name game' thread but spent the afternoon making some brackets for my new Bikevis led's to fit them to the crash bars.
The bits cost £11.27 as had to buy multipacks but got enough spares to make several sets if these fail.
Now all I have to do isfind the time to fit my bigpie aux fusebox and wire them up, along with the heated grips and Sat Nav waiting in the garage!

Dropped it in a pub car park. I wasn't even on it at the time, kicked out the sidestand, got off and had walked a couple of paces when I heard a crash behind me.
Broke the hero blob off the footpeg, the end off the clutch lever and there's some superficial scratches to the engine bars and hand guard. Could have been worse.
I can remember reading a thread on here where other stroms had rolled off the sidestand. That's never going to happen to me I thought  :angry-banghead:

As MartinW says!

I've done it before with my Divvy. More recently I found my Glee firmly loaded on my thigh because I didn't check the sidestand was properly loaded.......and it was facing down-hill.

nuff sed.......
So how's it going so far then?

Had a run out over the Pennines, came across this wonderful, remote little road
