More like yesterday, had it MOT'd then pleasant ride-out along escarpement over Romney Marsh between Folkestone and Hamstreet. On to Tenterden to join A28 up to Ashford (Kent) and back down A20 to home in Folkestone. Didn't put heated grips on until last 1/2 hour and toastie warm. Oh and tried out new boots, RST Adventure, seem fine. I'll see how they perform in wet someday I suppose though they are rated as waterproof. Like the chunky sole as spend a lot of time on French roads with those gravel and loose edges where smoother soles feel as it they are on ball-bearings and footing is difficult.

Off to Dole in May, Oldgeezer?  I did a pre-season montage at a campsite au bord du Lac de Chalain one April. Nearest town was Doucier. Bloody cold, it was. But beautiful.

Don't you fit anything to your own bike, Dinger? I know you remove pieces yourself ( with a little assistance from Holmsey )  lol

I don't trust myself Rusty, I even managed to snap something off when I tried to fit the mirror extenders. Best I leave her alone  :icon_no:

I'll admit to stripping a clutch lever bracket thread when fitting my mirror extenders. Cack-handed ex-textile machine mechanic!

Was going to bleed the brakes but my youngest who was going to assist decided to get drunk and not come home until this afternoon. ... it'll have to wait until next weekend now..
Tightened the chain though.

at 23,000 miles I have now put on new chain and sprocket, new clutch cable, new battery, oil and filter (done every 3,500 miles) MOT, no problems there.

this was all done by my newly found garage called JNC9 of Sandy Lane KT12

The clutch cable had started to wear and stretch, the chain was in fair nick as were the sprockets but I'm sure the battery was on its way out. :)

Took my Veek out for the 1st time since November, it's not because I am a fair weather rider, but due to the waterlogged garden.
I now have a 100foot groove down the lawn.
I've been asked why I have 3 bikes, well that's because I'm not allowed any more.

After fitting new/secondhand parts last June decided to clean and lube front calipers.
Oil change
Clean and oil the chain, the worst bit, why is it so dirty down there? It's not as if I travel across country.
Air in tyres.

Thinking of selling????

Set off for a bimble to test the latest in foot warming. Managed 7 miles before the Fi light came on followed by a missfire, followed by cutting out. Dumped the 'bike and had a lift back on Stevieweavie's Speed Triple. Collected the trailer, collected the bike and read the codes. C24 and C25 front and rear coils. Stripped it down and found a couple of chaffed wires.

On the bright side my feet were toasty warm.

I need another run before the Lakes mission....
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

First ride out since end of October. Took it to the Suzuki dealer I bought it from to discuss the recall. Mine's an AL2 registered March 2013 and it's on the list. Had a chat and it looks like I'm getting my valve check on Suzuki, the bikes got 16,200 on the clock and not had it done yet. I'm assuming if no symptoms have shown up its probably OK????? Dealer thinks so too, plus I'm hoping if it does need shims doing they might put them in FOC while in there.  Going in week today.
Took a gamble and asked them to do a full service while it's in.
Called into my (very) local bike shop on the way home to book it in for its first MOT. He'd got nothing booked and said he'd do it there and then if I wanted, ran the good lady home and was back in five minutes. Passed with no advisories, despite having 11,100 miles on the Anakee 3's. :lala: I was concerned about the front but he was happy that it was still well within the limits!! I'll change both before the first tour of the year anyway.
The front has worn quicker than the rear, although the rear is squaring off its got loads of tread left. Most of that 11,000 miles has been two up and fully loaded! Probably go for the Anakees again.

My AL2 glee was also registered 1st March 2013, so it too was due it's first MOT.
Rang local independent dealer first thing this morning, took it in late morning. He came to the waiting area and said "Bad news, I'm afraid...." so I asked "Oh. What's it failed on then?". He replied "Oh it hasn't failed, it's passed. The bad news is that I'm not going to make any money out of you!"
Great feeling!  :lala:
Will still have to contact the official bandit dealer (not talking about the bike model here) as my glee is also on the recall hit list....   :icon_no:

Had some heated grips fitted! lovely toasty hands now...even with my grip puppies over the top!

Finally conceded that both front and rear brakes need stripping, cleaning and pads replacing as a minimum in the front and been having a few starting issues which apparently is the clutch switch sticking...so...that's more money that needs spending, although since I was told this is what's causing the problem its not done it at all.
