Shameless plug, but I'll be making up 10 more fuseboxes at the end of the month. Plug and play for 3 connections.

Hi bigpie,  in case you hadn't seen my request on the Aux Fusebox thread please include me on your list for this production run. Thanks.

If the v system and doesn't flow straight away turn the adjuster to prime and once all the air bubbles gone from pipe turn it down until it drips once a minute.

Unwrapped the lower seat Bebop sold me this week - called the local council for a collection service as there was SO much wrapping to protect in transit (seriously he did a fab job in protecting and sending - cheers Chris).

Swapped / 'fitted' said seat  :lala:

Removed the oil cooler and hoses. The metal parts of the hoses were starting to corrode, so a thorough clean and degrease followed by a couple of coats of black smoothrite should keep them protected. I'll refit it tomorrow once the paint is completely dry.

Adapted my spare 5.5" smartphone to work as Sat Nav.

- phone rooted
- slimmed version of android installed, all not necessary junk removed for better battery live
- Here Maps, Google Maps (offline) and Co-Pilot (paid) installed, all works with no data required
- lock screen deactivated and screen set to switch on once plugged to power
- bluetooth connected with helmet
- sitting in waterproof case with slot for usb cable, fitted to bracket with 4QuikFix system

Just can't justify spending few hundred quit on dedicated satnav  :violence-smack:

I've just bought one of those cases too. Seems very well made.

Well the Merc refused to start today and there was no one to help so put bits and pieces back on the bike, pushed it out, hot wired and started it and then jump started the car from the bike. Pushed the bike back into its den. No problems with the car at all all day. It seems it has a dead cell in the battery.

Re-fitted my Vibe-Free modified clutch basket. New clutch plates and springs along with oil, filter and coolant (whilst I was there). Changed sprockets and chain. Rebuilt bike.

Took "New" bike for commute to and from work.  What a transformation - gone is the chudder at 3500 -4500 rpm.  Smooth control through the rev band.  Fantastic!

It's easily the best mod I've done to my Vee,  had to constantly slip the clutch to smooth out the low speed/rev, I thought it was just the way they were but it's been 3k since I did it and it's amazing. I was concerned that the clutch rattle hadn't completely disappeared but John said it would be fine and he wasn't wrong  :thumb:

Left at 0630 at -2 degrees for ride to Orwell Motorcycles, Ipswich for Glee's first service. Frozen by time I got there but 8 degrees on way home with proper revs to use was a cracking ride.
Roll on Summer.

Took mine out for a shakedown run after having it in bits. All seems as it should...apart from forgetting to increase the fork preload. Doh! Other than that she ran like a Swiss watch.

Rode into work at 6:30 when it was -2°C. Heated grips on high but it was still baltic on the fingertips. Pay off came this afternoon when I got a sharp finish and went for a ride out on dry roads in sunshine. Bike is covered in salt so really should think about washing it.

Washed the salt off it and covered it in wd40. Didn't go out though as there's lots of snow showers around. Roll on summer.

Yesterday I fitted some new LED spotlights. Not tested them properly in the dark but first impressions are very good. I then went for a ride and discovered that my heated grips and Sat Nav charger had stopped working. A quick look under the seat revealed that I had somehow broken a couple of the bullet connectors to my BigPie fusebox. A quick stopoff at Maplins followed by some repairs in the car park saw me riding home with a warm hands and a charging Sat Nav :)

Gave the bike a wash with the new snow foam, eyed up where the tool tube is going (couldn't find any cable ties or p clips to attach in the mess what I call my workshop) emptied the panniers and re arranged them, had a good long chat with the other half daydreaming about going abroad on it this year :D Good day
