This bike is a K7 with 18k, it's cleaning up well but the Water Pump has suffered. The lesson I learned today is that you have to take the Clutch Cover off of the DL650 to remove the Water Pump (you don't on the DL1000).

I also dropped the Rad to get at the connectors behind it.  :fix:

How unlucky Fat Rat. According to the Suzuki chap at the NEC the finish on the water pump cover turning to crap is highly unusual. He was very surprised when I said my bike was just about to have it's 3rd one fitted. Unheard of he said.

I pointed him in the direction of the forum....

I bought a new DL1000 in 2006, at the 600 mile service, due to corrosion,  it went in for a new Water Pump, new Disks and a repair to the Tank where it was starting to rust under the Fuel Cap  :violence-smack:

What?

I didn't get a call to help you with the Wee Andy?  :fix:

You know you're not allowed to use spanners or you hurt yourself.
Or was Amy making sure you were OK?

Nice to see another Strom in the stable though. How long will this one stay?

Nathan,

As I told you last time, you have more facial hair than I'm used to  :smirk:

No Amy, just me  :fix: The intention is to keep this one so watch the For Sale section over the next couple of weeks.

New chain. In the last week that is MOT, new front sprocket (rear was OE and just fine,) , Airfilter, PD Oiler and checked all plugs and valve clearances.

Phew. Just need some good weather now.

seems like a lot of effort just to paint the Water Pump, cleaning the gasket faces was a royal pain.

New Gasket ready to go on, Water Pump prepped and in Primer. Oil Rad dropped for some TLC, had to drill out the chocolate fastener which holds the cover on (no surprise there).

A couple of coats of Paint tonight on the Water Pump then a couple of coats of laquer in the morning. With a following wind it may be running tomorrow.
