Taken all the plastic off ready for a mobile mechanic tomorrow.

He's going to do throttle bodies and valve shims. Air filter is in need of a good blast out or replacement.

I have done all plugs except front top but will do that tomorrow when the rad is swung forwards.

I'll see how Dave gets on with the 650. He's really a Triumph factory-trained (bloody good)mechanic but I hope he can also do stuff on my Suzy. It's really convenient not to have to travel to a dealer - especially if the bike has to cool down first.

I fitted the Suzuki 'crash' bars on mine, they look good and robust. Then had a good run out to Frinton on Sea, nice ride on slippery roads, the pilot 4's were spot on , very good tyres Imo.

Had the valve clearances checked. All within spec.

Fitted a new air filter whilst it was all in bits

Plugs all aok.

I can really recommend Muddy Sump if you want a mobile mechanic. Mainly triumph but can turn his hand to Suzukis too.

Effing headlights stopped working  :dl_soapbox:

The fuse is OK so I suppose it's time to check the connections on the starter switch module

Renewed the spark plugs and measured the valve clearances. Fortunately they were in spec. It was a bad enough job anyway without having to remove the camshafts to re-shim the clearances. I take my hat off to V-strom mechanics if they can do the job without removing the radiator. Too fiddly for me! At least it'll have fresh antifreeze when I reassemble it all. Just hope the old gaskets don't leak now.

Surgery done, all went well. Thanks to all for best wishes.
It's strange now to be sitting by my laptop watching video from the arthroscopy camera made during my surgery. I can clearly see my meniscus being cut  :bawl:

Took advantage of the dry weather to put another 107 miles on my new Glee around the roads of North Suffolk and West Norfolk.
What a difference to my Bandit, so much lighter and even at running in revs you can tell what a great bike it is.
Did my longest stint since hurting my back, 1 1/2 hours, with no pain so all looking good for a cracking year of riding.

Removed the rear wheel for a new tyre, Bridgestone A40 and while I had the wheel out I greased the rear link (a bit dry) and removed the swing arm,  well you can't remove it because of the rear header pipe,  but you can move it enough to grease the bearings (OK these ones)

Fitted my tomtom to the bike with a ravetech line of sight mount. Dropped the wire through a spare screen hole to keep it tidy, over all it looks good and works well.
Only slight disappointment is the waterproof switch I ordered looks a little 80's but never mind it is on and working.
